  • NPBs are not as bad as those sellers who refuse to send the item as it didn't reach the amount they wanted.

I have never sold on ebay allthough I was thinking of setting up an online business selling computers etc. I guess thats not going to happen now!

Why are ebay being so harsh to me?! Theres people on ebay selling fake items, scamming people, not sending the right iteem, sending items weeks if not months late. Why are those people not getting suspended?

I could go on ebay right now and probably find 100s of sellers that are selling fakes and chances are that they have 100's of positive feedback from selling fakes and several negatives from buyers saying the item was fake but ebay dont investigate unless the big companies get on their backs.

I should have known I would get got mobbed by all the eBay sellers! deservingly so I guess.

I just wanted a comparison on the type of punishments ebay handout.

Unfortunately its ebays ball, and they have decided to take it off you.. Not much you can do i'm afraid.

But, i guess you survived in life before ebay, so you will survive a year without it.
  • I am guessing that you didn't let these sellers know your situation....
Had you told them what was going on, re: unexpected costs, they might not have reported you as a NPB.
It also doesn't look good to try and set up another account... as far as eBay are concerned, you were breaking their rules about multiple IDs.

ebay are a law unto themselves and like the gestapo!!! ive had similar problems and trying to resolve them is a nightmare!!! AND before everyone jumps on me i didnt not pay for anything!!! In fact i dont even know what the original problem was. They banned my as they said my account was linked to another, but they wont give me any details, so how can i put things right!!!
They do not protect their buyers either, as they banned me when i had several orders which had been paid for, many by cheque/postal order, i had nothing to lose by NOT sending them out as ebay had already suspended me!!!! I sent out all orders, as i would hate that to be done to me (it has been and ebay dont care)!!! But i bet theres loads that wouldnt have done!!!!
if u google suspended from ebay you might find some interesting reading!!
    You are not alone!!!

My ebay account was suspended about a year ago due to unpaid item strikes (dont all shoot me at once!, I was going to pay for the items but I had some unexpected costs and I had to get my priorities right)

Whats everyones opinion of my situation? Do I deserve to be suspended for 12 months? Is it a justified punishment? Is it too harsh?

 Sorry - Once is a mistake, perhaps- but to do it more than once is just tacking the mick!

NPB are, IMHO, a total pain in the Ar53!
YOU cost Sellers Money in listing fees + Commission. Then the seller has the hassle of claiming it back, and then the hassle of re-listing and answering the 'why are you selling the item again?' questions, and then, as often as not the item sells for less than the 1st time around as bidders are wary of it!

I'm sorry to say - what goes around, comes around.

Ebay are a privately owned company and are fully entitled to run it as they see fit, provided they operate within UK law etc.

If you don’t like it, no one is forcing you to use it.

I’ve done well over 500 trades on Ebay, about 50/50 buying and selling. I have 100% feedback and the very few problems I have had have been quickly and sensibly sorted out by Ebay and Paypal.

Have I been lucky or is that because I know and understand the rules and always try to follow them?

I always pay when I win, usually immediately.

I always honour a sale, even if it sells for far less than I hoped.
  • You've made the situation worse for yourself by registering another eBay account while you were suspended.

When did you get the strikes removed?

You set up a new account in the hope you'd get away with it. It didn't work - unluckily for you, but possibly luckily for all the honest ebayers out there.

    Harsh maybe but right imo.
