You should give them both £1000 because it was promised, then you should spey your dog.
Plus your youngest should think twice about getting a dog if they can change their mind that quickly even when they know the puppies are already here/on their way!

regardless of the rights and wrongs of breeding to give your son a puppy, I hope that you are declaring the income to HMRC. If you promised then you promised gibe the older one the money.

    1. Sell all the puppies
    2. Give each £1000 to do with as they wish
    3. Spay your dog
  • I can't believe I actually read to the end of this nonsense!

Good grief. The moral dilemma here is that you used your dog as a money making machine.  Poor dog
Absolutely agree with this! Makes me furious to think people use their dog as a money-spinner! It would never cross my mind to breed our dog because my child wants a similar dog.
  • You bred puppies into the world when there are millions dying in shelters. How sad and as for your poor family dog. And your Son changing his mind and wanting a retriever instead of one of the “family” Labradors. Surely there isn’t much difference ?

    Treat both sons equally.
The initial proposal was to give one son a dog and the other would get a gift of equivalent value.
Maybe the simplest solution would be to give each son £1000
