Letter received from Klarna Final Notice - I've never even used Klarna!

  • Just a warning to anyone that has received a final demand letter. Make sure you chase Klarna. We rang them on 28th October, 2 days after receiving letter to report the identity theft. Was told it would be passed to security team. We rang today to find that nothing had been actioned and the debt had now been passed to dept agency. Had to ring Ardent the debt agency and they are going to halt proceedings for 2 wks while Klarna investigate. Klarna said nothing on the system showing that we called. Luckily we emailed customer services the following day with crime nos so proof we did contact them. What a waste of a morning. Hope it gets resolved soon.

Good advice, worth checking on them as clearly they're useless!
  • I have heard from Klarna and they say the statement is now closed and nobody can order on my behalf. It's the same letter format as other posts on here.I have checked Government Uk and all seems to be in order. I have doubled down on security and passwords etc. I do not think anybody can obtain 100% security, we can only do are best and hope we get missed by the scammers. Thanks for any comments.
  • Glad it's got resolved. Hopefully we will hear back from them next week.
  • Yet another phone call to Klarna. Nothing passed to security for the second time. No idea what's going on, wondering if its just stalling tactics or are they just incompetent. Went through everything again today, she said she suspended the account and security will be in touch via email. Fingers crossed third time lucky.

Just checked my credit report today and someone took out mobiletopups for £56 and pay on three. The account was taken out 28 Oct 24 and used are former address we left nearly 2 years ago.

Have spoken to Klarna and details all passd to their fraud dept.

I find it strange the purchase went through bearing in mind the fraudster was using an old address.

On my credit report Klarna keep making soft searches, this last Sunday was the latest. I have emailed them again. This is getting beyond a joke.
To be honest I don't believe a word they say.  I've had to chase as they said they would write off the debt but didn't admit fraud. They've now acknowledged it and said that it's been taken off credit file but obviously got to wait for it to update. I've also asked for anything in my name to be removed. Problem I've got now is, the right to be forgotten form says email account on order. Well its not my account so not my email address. I know I'll get no sense from customer services. Just going to add, whenever you ring follow it up with a confirmation email. They do not pass information on, so am email is proof you contacted them.

What would be the best email address for them please?  Will report to action fraud.
