As these comments were some time ago, im not sure if this helps? This morning I watched RIP OFF BRITAIN BBC this exact fraud has just been on. It's a scam and Klarna know about this scam. If anyone is still struggling I would watch this on catch-up.  Hope everyone gets sorted out.

I have received a letter from them chasing a debt. I don't have a account called them and they are looking into it. Am so worried :-(
I find it annoying in not hearing anything from this motley company.  In my case £56.  Not a lot I know and could just pay on behalf of the fraudsters but I’m certainly not going to.
At last a result. I went via Resolver and has now brought this sorry affair to a close.  Please see following from them.

Thank you for reaching out to Klarna. My name is ? and I will help you with your complaint. Thank you for your patience while we investigated your complaint. We are sorry that the experiences you encountered with Klarna did not meet your expectations.

Your concerns surrounding the status of an unauthorised purchase investigation you reported have been carefully examined. Our team conducted an extensive investigation, taking into consideration all relevant details and evidence at hand. However, please be assured we have reviewed your complaint in detail to handle your case appropriately.

Firstly, this is not the experience we want you to have with Klarna. As a goodwill gesture, we have decided to write off the full amount of £56.78 from your Recharge.com order with reference MHB0JF8G-1. This means you no longer owe anything on this order. We hope this resolution meets your expectations and alleviates any concerns you may have had

Additionally, I have successfully deactivated your Klarna app session. Since you mentioned that you do not recognize this account and your identity was used to create it, we have escalated your case to our specialist team. They will proceed with the necessary actions, such as exercising your right to be forgotten or account deletion, to ensure your information is handled appropriately.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this matter.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and distress caused and hope this information helped to provide some insight on the matter. In the meantime, I wish you a pleasant day.

We understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for. If you wish to take your complaint further, your referral options are below. We are grateful for your feedback and will continue to use it to improve our services. Thank you again for your understanding.

For more information on how we handle complaints, visit our complaints page: [Klarna Complaints Handling Procedure](https://www.klarna.com/uk/feedback-and-complaints/ ).

I would not settle for this - A GOODWILL GESTURE? - meaning they don't believe you but for the amount owed its too small to pursue.
Unless I got a complete not guilty from them I would go for damages.

I agree because of the words highlighted. You need to take this further because they obviously dont believe the account to be fraudulent

Agree. In my case they accepted it was fraud and wrote the £300 (I forget exactly) debt off. The "goodwill gesture" in my case was compensation of £100 for my wasted time. I'd push this.

Many thanks for the above replies and I know the truth I am completely innocent.  This matter has taken too much of my time already and just want to let matters rest now.

Is the debt showing on your credit record?

Yes it is and I brought it to their attention from checking my credit report.
  • We had the same email from them. A gesture of good will, will not get it taken off your credit file. Plus as another member said, its not accepting it as fraud. They are not admitting its their fault. Its all cut and paste drivel. We took it to the adjudicator, giving very detailed evidence and asked them to uphold it as an unauthorised purchase without my knowledge or consent. To have anything on our credit file deleted and the account made in my name without my consent deleted. It actually gets dealt with properly by the adjudicator. They came back to say, our complaint has been upheld. The debt is cleared, credit marks taken off, fraudulent account suspended and a link for right to be forgotten, which I'm not yet going to do as its proof of what's happened. Oh and I also asked for compensation which we got. Only £75 but better than nothing. This company is a disgrace.
