How bizarre.Based on your credit information, you're not eligible for our other current accounts right now. This could be for a number of reasons:• Your credit history isn't strong enough?• You've defaulted on a loan or credit card NO• You've had a County Court Judgment in your name NO• You've been declared bankrupt NO• You're on a debt management plan NO
100% not the case, I've got loads of history not perfect but am well in my 20% of active credit usage etc no missed payments etc, mortgage up to date.
First time I've ever been rejected for a Current account so a little bamboozled.
I guess I'll never know..
I too have an excellent report from MSE Credit Club / TransUnion and Equifax and no financial skeletons, this is is also the first time I've been rejected.
I too think this is a commercial decision, however I have been advised it's not my income being too low, but I have opened three accounts in the last four months.
You can appeal the decision which means you can book an appointment in branch whereupon they will 'resume' the application to get more information from a code. It may then be possible to provide more information, in my case the reason for opening several current accounts is for their regular savers. I have booked my appointment for Monday.3 -

However, like the last time I applied so I could open a Rainy Day Saver, their useless system apparently couldn't verify my ID. At the time I went into the local branch only to be told the certified ID checker person wasn't in that day and I'd have to make an appointment. I made an appointment but, for some reason, my account was opened anyway before the appointment was due. Unfortunately, that branch has now closed. The nearest now is a 90 minute round trip by car on a good day, and I can't have my ID checked in the local hub that's a 2 minute walk from my office. Also, I don't know how strictly they'll enforce the "Use the app to open an account" part, so I don't want to waste my time and money going to a branch only to be refused the bonus on a technicality.Like last time, I also tried to apply via the websiteLike last time, I got a message at the end saying they couldn't complete my applicationLike last time, I received a text saying my new card is now active0

Who do they use for Credit Search?0

Application process sounds a bit 'around the houses'. Can anyone testify?0

Not yet, but that text was only received at lunchtime yesterday. Hopefully it'll be in the post soon if not already. The text did mention I could find the card details in the app but that's rather unhelpful since I can't log in until I have the new card details lol

If my current bank switch completes without the two direct debits from the switched account also going over (I was a little premature requesting the switch before the two direct debits were showing),
can I just set up another switch from a chase burner account with two direct debits (obviously once they're showing!)?
Or is only the first bank switch eligible for the cashback?0 -
What is meant by Active direct debits? Does a direct debit for example to Paypal for ebay fees that is rarely drawn count? Thanks0
