I have had a current account with them before (solely to access the rainy day saver) which I closed about a year ago. Vaguely think there might have been a switch incentive at the time they launched the rainy day saver?

Thanks, I didn't get that one. Think I got the double blue rewards switch incentive they did back in 2018ish. Not sure if that excludes me from this one0

Hi I am switching to this. Is it like the others and the £800 only needs to be in the account for a day or so I need to keep it in the account the whole time?0

One of the rare few banks I'm still eligible for a switch offer from (though I've held accounts with them previously). However, like the last time I applied so I could open a Rainy Day Saver, their useless system apparently couldn't verify my ID. At the time I went into the local branch only to be told the certified ID checker person wasn't in that day and I'd have to make an appointment. I made an appointment but, for some reason, my account was opened anyway before the appointment was due. Unfortunately, that branch has now closed. The nearest now is a 90 minute round trip by car on a good day, and I can't have my ID checked in the local hub that's a 2 minute walk from my office. Also, I don't know how strictly they'll enforce the "Use the app to open an account" part, so I don't want to waste my time and money going to a branch only to be refused the bonus on a technicality.

I’m not particularly interested in this blue rewards malarkey, can it be ditched after the switch money has been paid out.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -

When some of us had to go into the branch for the switch last November to open the account it was fine. Still got the bonus with no quibbling despite the open online stipulation in the rules for that one too.

I checked back and discovered I switched to Barclays in May 2018 to take advantage of a double blue rewards incentive they were offering. Although this wasn't strictly a cash incentive and I'm not currently a customer, I think I'm right that the wording of the t & c would exclude me from this one?0
