I saw the linked comment in reference to a previous switch offer being successful without doing it online. But with this one it mentions the app instead, it says to:
"Download the Barclays app, use it to apply for and open a sole Barclays Bank Account"
And it also says
"You will not be eligible for this offer if: You did not use the Barclays App to open your Current Account and initiate your Current Account Switch"

Though that doesn't mean people can't slip through the cracks, something similar happened to me with First Direct where bonuses were meant to be for new customers but I got it anyway despite previously being a customer.I applied via the website, switch went through on Wednesday, text received today saying I qualified for the incentive
I intend to, although it will leave less time to start the process for anyone who has been unable to apply via the app so far
I'm happy to confirm that, after applying for an account via the website rather than the app, my switch bonus was paid today.

I had a DRO about 18 months ago, and included in that was a Barclaycard debt, which was written off. Does anyone happen to know my likelihood of being accepted for this switch offer? Is there a credit check?0

Seems like they take the £5 fee even if you cancel before 1 month... FYI for anyone.
Also, if you cancel before they pay you for the £5 rewards for having 2 Direct Debits, you won't get the money.
Customer service not even familiar with the £5 cashback for DD's, poor training and product knowledge in the call centre.
Happy for the free cash but not my favourite experience. Will avoid Barclays going forward.0 -
opened account on Saturday and paid in £800and did the switch, signed up to blue rewards thing. Monday get a message saying they can't do the switch from my virgin account and that they will be sending me a letter out. App was working fine on Saturday, now I can't login...When I enter my pin it comes up with "00002 Sorry, something has gone wrong" with it saying to try again at a later time.
Then receive email saying I need to pay in £800 to use the blue rewards thing errrr there is already £800 in the account......No card has been sent out. I get the feeling they have closed the account. I was with Barclays 12 years ago and didn't leave on the best of terms however I never owed them money.
No letter received and its now Thursday.....honestly what a shambles...Savings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -

Going to give it until Thurs this week and if they haven't got in contact via letter then i'll be calling them up. Received letter on Saturday saying the switch wasn't going ahead after a review of my account and that they would be getting in contact separately.
Not worried about the £800 as I know i'll get it back at some point just that I don't want to end up being passed from department to department. As I said the whole thing is a shambles, haven't had this with any other bank i have switched to either.
I suppose this shows why I ended up leaving them in 2012 lolSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -

Next time I accessed the app it had logged me out and I can't get any further without the debit card PIN which I still haven't received nearly 2 weeks after opening the account. The switch has gone ahead and I received the debit card within a couple of days. CS are supposedly sending me a new PIN in the post. Hopefully that one will arrive otherwise I'm going to cut my losses and switch elsewhere. Fortunately it's just my burner account with just a couple of charity DDs I use for switching purposes.0

I received my £175 today. How do I cancel the blue rewards I can’t seem to find out how. Unless it’s me being an idiot. Had a good look round the app to no avail0
