Barclay’s £175 Switch Offer July 2024

Has anyone actually got a bonus from this switch offer without using the app? I saw the linked comment in reference to a previous switch offer being successful without doing it online. But with this one it mentions the app instead, it says to:
"Download the Barclays app, use it to apply for and open a sole Barclays Bank Account"
And it also says
"You will not be eligible for this offer if: You did not use the Barclays App to open your Current Account and initiate your Current Account Switch"

Though that doesn't mean people can't slip through the cracks, something similar happened to me with First Direct where bonuses were meant to be for new customers but I got it anyway despite previously being a customer.0 -

My switch has gone through but I've not had a text about it or any mention of the incentive yet...0

I intend to, although it will leave less time to start the process for anyone who has been unable to apply via the app so far

Very frustrated by the whole process. I created my new account in the app with no problem. Next time I accessed the app it had logged me out and I can't get any further without the debit card PIN which I still haven't received nearly 2 weeks after opening the account. The switch has gone ahead and I received the debit card within a couple of days. CS are supposedly sending me a new PIN in the post. Hopefully that one will arrive otherwise I'm going to cut my losses and switch elsewhere. Fortunately it's just my burner account with just a couple of charity DDs I use for switching purposes.0

I received my PIN on the 1st of Aug and the same again today and also a card reader today.

Would love to know why Barclays love to make the application process as awkward as possible.
Inputted all the relevant details and took a photo of my passport, but towards the end of the process it asks me to visit a branch to verify my identity and address to finish opening my account DESPITE providing my passport. Plus, why would I book an appointment only for the application to be turned down - just tell me there and then!

Strange because a poster in this thread is adamant that the p.i.n. is only accssible in the app. and also poured scorn on the card reader provision.

What an absolute mess. After, deleting app and re-applying I got the same thing. Never mind. I hope a better switch offer comes along soon.
