Surprised this hasn’t been picked up on already. The deal launched today 8th July:
Use the Barclays app1 to switch your current account to us by 30 August 2024 and we’ll give you £175. This offer is only open to new customers who opened a Barclays Bank Account or Premier Current Account between 8 July and 30 August 2024.

Apply for the account in the app.

you won’t qualify for the £175 bonus payment if:- You’ve ever received a switching offer reward from us for switching to any of our current accounts.

If I've read it correctly, as long as I complete the criteria by end of July, I will get paid incentive by end of Aug, so can then remove Blue Reward before they remove the £5 cashback at the start of Sep.

Anyone done this yet through the app?
I've just set up 2 x 50p direct debits onto my TSB account which I'm switching from into this (as the final TSB £10 bonus was received today)
As the 2 x direct debits won't show or be debited for another week or so, does the Barclays account give you the option to select the actual switch date, or do you not get the option.0 -
No it doesn't let you chose the switch date.SickGroove said:Anyone done this yet through the app?

I just set up a couple of DD on a new Chase account opened just for the switch, so will now wait will there are showing in my Chase account .

Can I have some suggestions on where to set up 50p DDs please?

The MSE page says you’re ineligible if you’ve receive ‘switch CASH’ before, the Barclays T&Cs say ‘switch reward. Obviously the Barclays T&Cs are what count, so I assume I’m ineligible as I received the 200k Avios points for switching to Barclays Premier a year or so ago (also had to open a Barclaycard, but well worth it).0

Do you need to wait for the two direct debits on the account your switching from to be debited first, or can you start the switch as soon as they are showing on the account your switching from?HillStreetBlues said:

It really depends on how they define "active direct debits". Nationwide paid me the reward for two direct debits which had been setup before I initiated the switch but each had the first payment taken between then and when the switch actually took place. It's not immediately obvious whether Barclays would reject or accept a similar arrangement but that's what I'll be doing.SickGroove said:
