One very obvious feature springs to mind
Vauxhall badges?
But don't forget NI is still in the Single Market, so EU rules still apply there, and they get both of those.
You can't be thinking of the side of the steering, since there's three other Single Market countries also drive on the left.1 -

There's almost certainly a menu in the car settings to switch between m/km, so whilst they may be set up differently at the factory they are running the same software.Badges, yes, but the mounting points will be the same. Why we haven't changed over to Opel in the UK too I don't know, it'd be much easier.Pretty much all of Europe drives on the right, the exception being Malta?0 -

..I like the idea of anything that makes people drive in a safer manner...there are some truly terrible drivers out there....

They have been for some time. There's so much traffic, the roads are in terrible state, and fuel costs a fortune.
I'm not that old and remember just going for drives for fun, but that was before speed cameras were a thing.I remember the days when I just got into my Capri on a dry day and drove it as far as I could - sometimes 400 miles each way - found a cheap hotel, and drove home the next day - no planning - just driving !
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
And did you get the hotel, a meal, a skinful of beer, and change from £1?MouldyOldDough said:Herzlos said:MouldyOldDough said:I think that we can all agree that the days of driving for fun are now just about gone?

...because of the people who think buying a Vauxhall or a Ford means buying a "British car" and vice-versa.Herzlos said:Badges, yes, but the mounting points will be the same. Why we haven't changed over to Opel in the UK too I don't know, it'd be much easier.

Oh yeah, I should have known that one since I've driven there.

There's a claim that this will cause some drivers to get worse - they'll just plant their foot to the floor and let the car figure it out. But those people will be dangerous anyway, and it'll prevent many more drivers from having the speed creep up on them which is easily done with the quieter engines we have now.
