@Sarahwithlove yes, hoping the meds will switch to shared care after we've got a dose stabilised, should be a short term pain. But yes, I will have to find the money for it, one of those non-negotiables. If it slows down debt payments by £100 or so a month in the meantime then so be it.

Teensy achievements this last couple of weeks - new commute route is saving £2.30 a day and I am trying to be better at taking lunches in instead of the boring meal deals. Weekend social spending went a bit awry so monthly savings money will come (part) out again but still vaguely on target for covering the next service charge bill and a bit towards summer holidays with teenmonsters.

And most importantly, got GP to agree to do referral for meds so fingers crossed CAMHS will come good by April - will be chasing them this week! Means no private health bills!

Re-mortgage completed this week. I've also sorted a SIM only phone contract switch (saving £8 pm), electric switch (saving £20pm) and shifted my H credit card balance to a naff west 0% 18 month deal so down to one card in the last couple of weeks. Next on the list is decreasing term mortgage cover to reflect the new mortgage - the Q cash back site suggests that'll save about £20pm and get some cashback too.

I need to sort out summer holiday flights for me and the monsters to stay with family and that's the next big spend.

Pay day in 6 days and then will definitely be - and stay - under that magic £10k barrier.

Well I have comeuppance for feeling smug about doing so much admin trying to cut bills and gloating about hitting the under £10k on payday next week - his maj's revenue services have just collared me for a £71 pm tax owed bill for the next 6 months. Under £10k will be a March payday aim now  :'(

Payday and all the debt bills paid / accounted for in my new sig.

It's an up not a down in the balance this month thanks to HMRC, but I have also booked our summer hols flights to stay with family (they went on the H € card). Given the up this month despite booking flights, shows without the debt, I probably can manage on my salary once the debt is out the way. Still on target to have got rid of £5k of debt by the 12 month diary point. I've got some ebay tech sales I must sort out too in March which will go towards the debt.

I've got four weekends away in March and April to look forward to and the days are getting longer so crawling out the winter doldrums here.

It does seem to be a long old winter. Atleast with hmrc it's not something you've actively chosen to spend..... just one of those life things, and you're still overall heading in the down direction.

Another day, another HMRC email - this time with my 25/26 tax code which is nearly back to normal. Assuming it sticks, I could be 70 quid a month better off from April, which ironically is just the amount extra I'm paying them every month this year - the tax man he giveth, then taketh away  :D
