Grrrr! I've had a few of those emails lately, saying my tax code is changing, then changing back, then saying it's changing but I can't see any actual change. I'm going to ignore them until it's been at least a fortnight between emails, then maybe they'll have settled on something and I can figure out what that means for me.
Sunshine forecast all weekend here, so I am planning on spending a few hours in the garden and hopefully joining you in the crawl out.

But the oxygen type phone company, they giveth - thought I'd timed the switching to end of monthly billing buy seems I was out and have just banked a £2.25 refund. Also put a delay repay claim in for a commute this week so another couple of quid should land soon. It all helps, especially after a bit of a social spendy day yesterday.

Nastywest have finally updated my banking app - my current account and credit card are with them and by coincidence my new mortgage is too so now I get to see the worst of my debt all on one screen! Including the mortgage it's over £122k  :o

Seeing it though inspired me to change my mortgage payment to a round number so as of month 2 I will be overpaying on that by £12.88.

Interesting chat with dp yesterday - he earns more than me but has a bigger mortgage following his separation and also pays more into his pension so really we have a very similar take home. We've been together properly about 18 months so I think it's very healthy to have open conversations about money, especially our values around it at this stage if things We also booked a holiday, well decided on it and he's booking it this week. Not as glam as we originally planned but will be a milestone holiday for him for various reasons so am looking forward to it with both pleasure and trepidation.

Money has gone a bit awry this pay month - I am hoping to be (partly) saved by the credit card from a northern town not taking the minimum payment due yesterday as I did a £3k balance transfer off it so looks like that's trumped the minimum payment, though the online chatbot is bleedin' useless so can't confirm that. That minimum payment would cover commuting and work lunches for the rest of the month.

Dp was also complaining of his money going awry this month too - we had quite a spendy social weekend together last weekend but not that much that it should cause us both problems. His big outlay at the moment is DIY plus he booked our spring trip which I owe him 90 quid for. Mine is a couple of impromptu lunches and nights out, and not just the socialising but they have been on days I don't usually go into London so extra commuting costs. Am out again this Thurs which so am going to rejig my WFH days this week. Oh and I also had to renew my annual travel insurance and the family money needed to be sent too. Next month will be better.

So it turns out if you make a payment in excess of the minimum payment more than 10 days before the DD then the northern town credit card doesn't take the minimum payment so that's commuting sorted til pay day, which is next Tuesday so only 6 days to crawl through. Ooh and a miniscule tax code change this month I see in processing ups my net pay by a whopping whole 100 pennies. Next month (assuming my code doesn't change again) should see it going up by about £70 which will be nice - just in time for all the bill increases to kick in.

Hmm, end of March evaluation = don't go away 2 weekends in a row, gonna do nothing for your debt busting. But I am still monitoring everything and despite that, gone up by less than £100. April will be better - on no, hang on am also away for 2 weekends, one taking teenmonster#2 away. Hmm. May will be better  :D

The northern town credit card took a hammering away with teenmonster#2 last week but we had a good time and obviously wasn't spending on groceries, commuting etc while away so a little offset.

Bit of a set back though as both our phones conked out the week before going away so my 50% share of his is also on a credit card and mine has gone on 6 months BNPL on the catalogue account but we both have almost bottom of the range Samsung ones so total damage just over 210 quid.

Depressingly realised that interest will kick in on my naffwest card in 4 months so hoping I can get another 0% balance transfer card with at least £5k in August.
