It is manic with drunks all over the place.

But if you're up early on New Year's Day it IS kind of fun to see the carnage...those who haven't yet gone to bed - can be very funny...and nowhere in the world is quicker to clean up after those who've had just a bit too much to drink than Vegas.

not from what I've read...a few people have said that they liked it but they didn't go in expecting Mindfreak and those people have said that they think that those who didn't like it were expecting Mindfreak...but the reviews are overwhelmingly bad...the fact that there are discounts to such a new Cirque show speaks volumes, I think...though in the current economic climate stranger things have happened.

I have forsaken Vegas for Hawaii this Xmas and the weather in the Vegas area is the main news here, Mccarren airport was shut due to snow and the I15 was closed between Primm and Baker.
The weather in Vegas certainly has big extremes 107 back in June now snow!

there's some cracking 'cancelled' rates here for delivery in May:
    http://www.crowncurrencyexchange.com/content/cancelled-currency-contracts-dollars.asp

a rate of 1.6399 for one of them! worth a gamble buying a few I would say as no-one knows what the exchange rate will do... almost tempted to get some euro's as well...

(edit - you can also buy for 1.59 for delivery in March too!)

My husband just sent me this link:

Maybe I'm weird - but I would LOVE to have been there for that - how pretty!!

To be fair, you rarely if ever see snow in Vegas. During the winter yes it gets chilly, thats about as cold as I would describe it, and we have been there every December and January for the past 5 years. But then I don't feel the cold. That snow last week was only at altitude,(scrub that, just viewed ferfs link) the section between Primm and Baker is about 9,000 feet. There is a big difference that most people don't really notice, Henderson, Red Rock and Summerlin are quite a lot higher than the strip area.
BTW, what is there to do at night in Hawaii? That is the crunch decision for us when we go on our holidays, couldn't bare sitting in the same bars and restaurants night after night. That is why Vegas ticks all the boxes, even in the winter there are tons more things to do than possibly any other holiday destination.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

BTW, on the subject of splitting this thread into multiple threads, the problem I see if where a post is relevant to say Canyon and Hotels. In this case it would need copying to both new threads, with someone to then do the editing out of the stuff not relevant to that thread.

Im happy to volunteer to split this thread into the smaller threads (in the new year), as Ive used this feature of VB before (the options appear as extra items on the Thread Tools bar), if someone else can volunteer to do the editing.
