I too vote for option 2.
I also would like to thank Trets for all the time and effort put into this subject.0 -
MarchI agree that seperate threads for different Vegas topics would be a great idea but (for me) only if they were sub-threads of this one (sort of a mini-forum within the main forums - not sure if that's possible)...if they're all out there independent of each other I'll lose track of them, I just know it (maybe I'm lazy) or end up posting to the wrong one somehow.
Part of me thinks that having it all in one big thread ensures that all the great info is in one place rather than scattered about (again, unless they can be sub-threads of the main one)...and the first summary posts have a lot of starter info...and the search function is pretty good.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I think there should be a new 2009 Vegas thread, but I think everything should stay in the one thread or else I might miss some stuff as I don't have time to check loads of threads.
Cheers0 -
the only problem about keeping everything in one long 200 page+ thread is that the same question will appear time and time again and time again and important info can easily get lost and people will get fed up with having to repeat themselves time and time again.
although setting up a sub-forum and having a few 'stickied' topics containing all the necessary stuff is very straightforward, it would have to go to the admin/owner of the forum and see if they agree.0 -

it think it's more a case if it is technically possible to do it . i have fired off a few PM's to the board admin.
i agree with Ferf on the need to group any separate sub threads under the Las Vegas thread umbrella so they don't get lost in the realms of the travel board, and you can see when you open the Vegas thread if any new posts/ questions have recently been posted.
The Grand Canyon trip is a question that gets asked a lot , probably because the guide is a little light in this area . i think there is a need to put more info into that section of the guide. however i have only took the trip once myself and think i could use a bit of help of what to write.
what sort of links/ tips do we have for money saving on this subject ? , as the guide only lists Helicopter tours, and does not consider bus and aeroplane tours.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
but i have no idea how to put them into a new thread. if anyone does please post.
Agree though that it needs a dedicated forum for these new threads in the travel section.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

MayWell there are 2 sub boards at the top of this Trips, Travel forum - one on Motoring and one on Days Out.
Surely with this topic being so busy and popular that it would merit being a sub board. Then there could be separate topics within it. We could start afresh with 2009 and if anyone thinks of a post from 2008 that may be relevant/of interest then they could copy it across. One that jumps out at me is Stoneman/ferf's posts on London Clubs International, but there will be many more.
I really do appreciate all that trets does to keep this topic on track as I am a moderator on another site and know the work involved.0 -

if possible i think the above is the best option. But with a just a few sections...im more a lurker here - but the huge thread when i 1st lurked Dec 07 was daunting
sections could be 1) Travel/accom (getting there, around there, cars etc) 2) Reviews 3) things to do (cover GC trips, vegas trips etc) I *think* those 3 could cover most?!
Again, thanks to all the posters here, helped make planning a wedding somewhere ive never been much easier! (i am crazy i know!!) :rotfl:0 -

ive setup boards like this personally and professionally, and in short, yes its possible, but its down to the site owner as to whether they setup another sub-forum and have a couple of trustworthy souls to moderate it.0
