Hi can someone give me some advice on flights in early August, they are currently £650 economy and £1095 Premium economy. How much should i be looking at paying in August? when is the best time to buy flights? I haven't even started looking at hotels yet as it's a bit to early i think or could a hotel + flight deal work out cheaper?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

August is a very popular month (with brits ) so i doubt sub £500 would be easy to find.
the best way of finding the the cheaper fares is to book before xmas it seems , and be prepared to go before June and after Sept. otherwise £350 are difficult to come by . you can make savings but it really is supply and demand .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

bah checked, this is 'from $199' right? or should i be looking at the priceline / hotwire route? :)
  • It may be "from $199" if you try to book direct. I got rooms at the Palazzo via Priceline and it came to £90 all in, including all their taxes. Some people are reporting getting rooms there for $150. Worth a try.
There are three ways to get something done; do it yourself, hire someone or forbid your kids to do it.
  • Well it's not long to our much awaited trip for our friends wedding. We had booked the Excalibur for 7 nights at usd 1148. Noticed today that they had a new promo at usd 875. Just gave them a ring to ask if they would honour new rate and was told yes. Whoopee more money to spend at the casinos or a trip to the Grand Canyon.

hey guys..whats the deal with gettin cheaper flights? we're looking at going september (18th - 26th...flexible tho) and checked with virgin, bmi and thomas cook...cheapest we could find was £480. how are people finding these £350 flights? do we have to go down the airmiles route with virgin?

is it a case of leaving it till the last minute? taking the gamble, and waiting til aearly august?

As trets says august is busy. I know it is to late now,but i always book my flights on or around the day they are released (about 330 days in advance) and have always paid around £300 with Virgin, used airmiles plus money last twice. Maybe something to consider in future

I have just got the Travelzoo weekly newsletter through and it is saying that Thomas Cook have got last minute flights to Las Vegas, travelling from Manchester on 5 March, for £219 return and on 12 March for £35 more. I have very quickly been through the link to the TC site and the flights are direct as well. (I hope I've got that right, but even if not, it seems an excellent bargain.
