No, there won't be any hotels that do fee free service. In fact, I would steer clear of any ATM in a strip hotel, they are almost always more expensive than the ones outside
Hiya
Is there anywhere outside the hotels that dont charge? We have
2500$ which we are hoping will last us the week, but we are taking our Nationwide card in case we get carried away on the roulette table;)

Just wondering if you know of any hotel on the strip that doesnt charge to make withdrawels from its ATM`s . The average cost charged is $4.99 , when I was there last
Thanks
The Venetian was $3 and Casino Royale $1 for withdrawals. Not sure if these have since changed....Most casino ATM's vary from $3-$6 per transaction.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
AugustThanks.
Play a bit of Jacks or Better online so know that strategy very well, but if I was to play others I'd need (and want so to minimise losses!) the tables, also if I could carry information that let me know the payout % of a payout table that will help me.
Think i'll try and print off some strategy's and practice a couple of games, just wouldn't want to stroll in with my sheet of paper to get banned or something! - I guess they know they have an edge anyway so they don't care as long as your playing!
I've recently being using one on www.freeslots.com
It gives you a trainer which is built in to show you the riopes then you can knock it off and it will only notify you when you make an incorrect hold etc. PLUS ITS FREE0 -
Any advice on whether to book the Grand Canyon trip before we go or wait til we get out there?
Noticed that viator.com shows prices in £'s which may work out better with the current exchange rate?0 -

I've read that dates fill up and it's best to book in advance. I think it automatically converts from $'s to £'s. You can select what currency you view, but it uses $'s as it's main price and works out the rest from that.
If you can wait until later I think I have a 5% off code they emailed me after I booked my flight for November. I can post it here tonight.0 -

That would be great... thanks :-)
Out of interest what package did you go for theres quite a few on there...
Also, when comparing the prices in $ to £ on their website, the exchange rate works out quite favourably.
E.g.

£173.97 or $299.99 and to get $300 now your looking at at least £200!!0 -

Hi, I booked our GC helicopter tour through lastminute.com/Viator as our Nationwide CC hadn't arrived- didn't get charged a CC fee. It was $299 or 183 GBP each. The helicopter company that takes you is Sundance and the same trip on their website is $429!!!!! They are very good, pick you in a stretch limo and our pilot was great giving us lots of info. Also fly back over the strip. Oh, booked the week before we went, and it did seem pretty busy for the time we picked (12.30). Have fun!!!
Went to local casino, lost another $30:rotfl:0 -

Here you go. Enter this code on check out "SurveyThanks" it gets you 5% off. It should work out at about £165.27 each now using that. If you're there between 9th and 15th November you can get me a beer for giving you the code.
You're right, buy in £'s... when I booked the $/£ rate was better and it was pretty much the correct conversion. If you bought in $'s now without the code it would cost you £191.50 each.... get it booked before they change their pricing!!!!
I'm going on exactly the same one in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!!0 -
Maycheers for the magical mystery tour report ferf... so did you win anything?
(other than a pat on the back?
) - we are definitely going to go for it - how big are the groups you get put in? does vegas knowledge help or is it a free for all?
also, re: bright angel and feasting there, we quite liked it to be honest and thought it was good value for money... this was in May '08 too... i suspect we have low standards or they were having an off-day (it was nothing to write home about but decent enough for us and not 'bad'...)
had a 'fat tyre'(?) draught beer from the bar too and that went down well enough too0 -

Each sub-group won the choice of a t-shirt, DVD or computer game...slightly disappointed that it wasn't that everyone won a prize (even a t-shirt or small token) but only one per group - so the 2 groups of 4 got one item each and that was for doing the very best we could have done...but since the prize wasn't the reason we did it it was OK...if I knew this when I booked I would have booked 2 couples.I think the maximum group size is 12 and they have a minumum, I think 4. we had 10 and it worked out really well as some were better at certain things than others, and others did better at other tasks - so it was a good mix.
As for Bright Angel - we're really not picky eaters and it was pretty dire...Denny's would have been about 5 steps up the ladder from what we had and the service was terrible (my FIL had no cutlery and despite asking the waiter he never brought any - FIL just grabbed some from another table which wasn't too hard, but wasn't the point really). I had lasagne which was lasange noodles, sauce from a jar and a load of cheese on the top...I'm really not picky, but it really wasn't very good. My FIL ordered from the Victorian Room menu (prime rib) which he thought was good (or at least he said it was) but both hubby and I tried a piece and to us it was inedible.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
