Well I have booked 3 nights at the Paris at at a great rate. IMO the fact it says it can be passed on to friends, there shouldnt be a problem ????

That is my thinking , I can cancel 3 nights at harrahs to re book at ballys to save $20 in total, worth doing if its legit but not worth risking if there is a risk

Its worth calling the hotel and saying that you got this emailed to you and checking, i am sure you will be OK but better to find out whilst you have a chance to get a good rate elsewhere.
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

Harrah's have a maximum stay policy for some of their offers. Not sure exactly what it is, but I have heard that they don't like back to back reservations.

I just went in and checked the small print. It is for a maximum stay of 5 nights. If you do the 5 + 2 thing you may well be charged rack rate for the last two. I have seen the offer posted elsewhere though, and it appears to be for everyone.

That would explain the jump in the price when I tried to book the 7 nights. I can do it as a 5 and 2 - use my girlfriends name & card for the last 2 nights.

I may well give them a call though - I an always say I got the details of a friend of a friend who we met in Mexico on hols - well we were there recently and met loads of Americans on hols.

I'm always wary to try these things just in case. I'm away to try find the full T&C then I'll try give them a phone.

    Thanks

I have been to Vegas numereous occasions . I always use my Nationwide card when abroad

Just wondering if you know of any hotel on the strip that doesnt charge to make withdrawels from its ATM`s . The average cost charged is $4.99 , when I was there last

    Thanks
  • Just an update on the friends and family offer from Harrahs.

I just called the Paris direct to enwuire. At 1st the nice young lady said that these offers were usually only available for employees, family & friends or total reward card holders but then I explained we met a couple of friends in Mexico who we stayed in touch with & they forwarded the info to us.

She then asked for the offer code which I quoted but she said the dates weren;t available as part of that offer. I explained that I had the page opened in front of me & quoted prices etc. Anyway she said that I could book for the whole week at a cost of $610.40 - probably £390-£400 - well we're well chuffed.

I asked for email confirmation & I got it while I was still chatting to her. I asked if I would have to provide an info of the employee and was told no they don't ask for employee nummbers or anything.

I had to pay the full amount now but that's fine by me & there's still a 72 hour cancellation policy.

    Well we're happy.

I am thinking of printing myself some video poker strategy & payout table info to take with me on my trip.

As I haven't been before, should I take these onto the casino floor with me would this be allowed?

    Thanks

Yes you would be able to take them with you. The VP machines are just fine to use strategy cards with. Have you been practising?

I've even seen strategy card being used on the Blackjack tables.

As pebblesmax says, cards are fine, and do practice. There are loads of free VP trainer applications on the net, but the best by a country mile is Winpoker, it costs about £18 but for the serious VP player it is an essential piece of equipment. This is not my opinion but the info from the top VP enthusiasts
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Thanks.

Play a bit of Jacks or Better online so know that strategy very well, but if I was to play others I'd need (and want so to minimise losses!) the tables, also if I could carry information that let me know the payout % of a payout table that will help me.

Think i'll try and print off some strategy's and practice a couple of games, just wouldn't want to stroll in with my sheet of paper to get banned or something! - I guess they know they have an edge anyway so they don't care as long as your playing!

No, there won't be any hotels that do fee free service. In fact, I would steer clear of any ATM in a strip hotel, they are almost always more expensive than the ones outside
