Maybe not the correct place to post - but will give it a go anyway!! Im off to LV in Nov and was thinking about getting dd xmas laptop over there - As heard they are much cheaper... Is that right?

If so, which shops are best to go to??

    LA

They are cheaper from what I've seen - or you can pay the same price and get a better model. Just for reference, check the same laptop at amazon.co.uk and amazon.com - you may not get internet prices in store in Vegas, but it's a good indicator of the price difference.

Potential issues with warranties to consider - whether you would be covered by a warranty in the UK if something went wrong. You'll also have a keyboard with a $ sign rather than a £ sign and a few other things in a different place - you can switch to a UK keyboard layout by changing some settings on the laptop, but that won't change the keys themselves - may not be an issue for your DD.

You will also have to buy a new power lead for the laptop - to run from the laptop to the brick.

We like Best Buy (closest is on Maryland Parkway - near Boulevard Mall - there's also a Circuit City in the area) and Fry's which is quite a ways south of Mandalay Bay.

Presumably buying an ipod Classic or Touch there that runs off a USB port is exactly the same as buying on in the UK.....ie no power worries?

I assume so - we don't have iPod products, but my Creative was purchased in the US (at a ridiculous discount from the UK price) and charges just fine through our PC via USB (or my husband's UK Creative charger).

Like Ferf I don't do Ipods but the Microsoft Zune I bought last year in the states charges through the Computer no problem at all. I also use a mains USB plug to charge as well.

Obprestige- try looking at MGM Signature. We've booked 2 suites there next April. There are 37 floors (I think) and the top ones are classed as penthouse suites. They are a bit pricey, but classey. Many also have balconies, which is rare in LV, although we are on 34th floor & OH is already panicking. Says he's not going out onto the balcony. well, I'll just have to have my nightcap all alone, wont I?

Stayed on the 32nd floor of the Pallazzo last time, never again, it was way to high for me....as for a balcony at that height...no way:eek:

Not quite ..... most of the suites on the "PH" floors are just like all the other suites on lower floors and the same price. Balcony was fine for the missus but I wasn't keen as it was fairly low....

There is a Apple store deep in the bowels of the Fashion show mall.
i have just purchased a Apple IPod classic and would not swap it for any MP3 player . it is simply the perfect product. the big advantage is that most 3rd party mp3 products are designed for the Apple Ipod

totally and Completely off subject . i purchased this speaker dock for my new Ipod and for £30 down from £80 it is a brilliant. i have yet to turn it off at work yet.
