I signed into my TR account and it let me book a room using those rates. I didn't get the email, but I'd like to know where it came from before I use it.

    Thanks.
Ummmm - dunno!!! Spent Friday night putting a possible itinery together for Xmas that included Caesars for $95 and Palazzo for $159 and Bellagio for $149. It probably came from here or fatwallet or one of the other hotel link sites.

I think it's the offer that bitgiggy posted here:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=14298787&postcount=4595

Since it was a direct email, sounds like a targeted offer.

Actually - looking at the reservations page for Caesars, on the dropdown list of packages this one does appear to show up...whether that means that it's open for everyone or not I don't know - calling it 'exclusive email offer' makes me think not but then having it on the drop-down list, perhaps it is.

If you're going to buy a phonecard when you're there, don't buy them from the machines in the hotels as they are terrible rates - go to CVS or Walgreens on the strip and buy one there.

It's been awhile, but I seem to recall a $20 card was 200 minutes back to a UK landline - sorry, don't know about mobiles.

Remember that some hotels charge you for calls from a phonecard (even though they are freephone numbers) - so you may have to go to a pay phone to avoid the charges.

Thanks to everyone for all your help & advice over our lack of spending power! Just to fill in a few details, we are unable to get refunds on what we have already paid for which is as follows: Flights, rooms at the Excalibur - got their $61 per night deal - paid up front - no cancellations. The car was booked on Lastminute at the same time as the flight so no cancelling there either!
From your kind advice it seems we could manage to be quite thrifty when actually in Vegas although my Brother is taking some convincing. I feel from the tone of his voice that he has already made up his mind not to go.
Like the idea of two meals per day and doing some sunbathing - can you take your own drinks to the pool?
    Thanks again

    PS. Whereabouts is Ellis Island?

Ellis Island is on Koval lane which is round the back of Paris and Planet hollywood . it's walkable from the strip . just don't be put off by the outside , as it looks a bit like a travel lodge .

for cheap drinks also goto Casino Royal next to Harrahs where you can get a bottle of beer for a $1 .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Casino Royale also have $1 Margaritas. Bill's has 99c Margaritas at the sports/rear bar. Bill's are the better (stronger) of the two.
