Was in LV during August and one day a taxi driver informed us that it had been 120f earlier that day!!
We arrived early evening and straight into hotel to sort out room etc so was around 8pm and dark when we ventured out and I was shocked when the heat hit me on leaving the hotel. More than anything it was just the fact that to us Brits darkness and heat just aren't what the brain expects!!
Did a lot of walking throughout the 3 days there in that heat and as long as we had water with us at all times it wasn't a problem plus easy to get cool in the casinos/hotels.0 -
AugustI was there last week and it was about 90 - 110 degrees and it was lovely (even saw Ricky Hatton there chilling in Jeans and a T shirt). Went down to Laughlin and it was 120 degrees which is about 49 degrees c and again that was lovely, the only problem was that it was too hot to walk on the sand bare foot.
As for Vegas, i have been 5 times now and each time my best tip for you would be to not stay in the same place, give yourself one night at least up at the Plaza on Freemont. You'll get to see both sides of Vegas that way, the Plaza costs about £9 per night on Mon - Thurs. After you have been to Freemont then move down to the strip.
Personally i usually stay at the Luxor, its ideally located. Using the monorails you can easily get up and down the strip within minutes. But for me the pool at the Luxor sells it. Ok i know Mandalay has a great pool too but in terms of price etc the Luxor is much cheaper. I think many people forget that a lot of the pools on the strip are snide and/or shaded for half of the day. Not only that but for me its nice to get away from all the noise when you have finished your day - or when relaxing.
From experiance there is little difference in strip rooms (at the basic level) and what sells it for me is the pool, location and cost.0 -
Yes (well, the exit row seats have them in the armrests and you pull them out to watch), though there can be issues with them working...I only say that to manage your expectations because it seems to be a fairly frequent problem that parts of the plane IFE don't work. I would take back-up entertainment just in case.
To be fair, I've been on flights with several carriers and problems with the IFE seem to be relatively common...just seems that more seats are affected on the Virgin planes when there is an issue...we've been lucky and not had problems on Virgin ourselves.
Im hoping and praying that mine works then! If not I'll just tell virgin that im scared of flying and need some entertainment to keep my mind off the fear of flying, who knows, they might move me up to business class if mine doesnt work! :j0 -

We stayed in a pyramid spa suite in March. It was nice enough, having the spa tub was great. The room was a bit worn and quite dark (which many have said is the case of the rooms in the pyramid but we wanted to stay in the pyramid specifically). The tower rooms are said to be bigger and a bit nicer - so depends on what's important to you.
We took a few photos of the room:Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MayExcellent work!!!!
Room looks ok, pity no flat screen telly etc, not up to ceasers standard but looks ok!
