Im hoping and praying that mine works then! If not I'll just tell virgin that im scared of flying and need some entertainment to keep my mind off the fear of flying, who knows, they might move me up to business class if mine doesnt work! :j

    ROFL- good luck with that

As my father used to say- "theres more chance of platting p~ss" than there is getting an upgrade if your screen is broken. Best you will get if it does not work are some air miles- and thats only if you write a stern letter of complaint. Take a book and hope for the best.
  • Just back today, shame no-one had the Orleans email offer. In the past I've just mentioned offers at the check in desk and have been given them but this time they wanted to see the email. Times are changing in Vegas, Casino takings are 15% down on the strip, good freebies or offers are hard to come by and the slots are very much tighter. Was talking to a local(emerald club player) in the orleans yesterday and mentioned that I thought the slots were a lot tighter, she said they were but that the Orleans still had the loosest slots.
This was my 5th visit and probably my last for a while, always stayed at the Orleans, was highly impressed 5 years ago and it is still good value but verging on cheap. Found things in the room from previous guests and the room wasn't cleaned well, I deliberately left some crisp crumbs under the table and they weren't cleaned up. It can get very smokey in the casino, even heard some americans complaining about it, don't think the air cleaners work that well now, was impressed 5 years ago how smoke free it was. French Market Buffet is very grubby now and the table waiters are miserable, the place has an off smell to it, watching really big people pile their plates high with food made me feel ill. Koji is a gem, food in there is great and the staff are good but they do like to shift you quickly. Got Fish n Chips in tgi fridays and that was really nice.

Flew with US airways 2 stops each way, would highly recommend them, plenty of leg room on all flights, leather seats transatlantic and good service but V.poor IFE. Stops break the journey, flight time from Philly to man was only 6 hours. Big downer was 2 of my cases have been ruined by bad handling on the way back, saw the Philly handlers from the plane and they have zero respect for peoples property, got a claim form from Man airport so see what they do.

Las Vegas is called the ground zero of foreclosures in the USA so if you fancy a property out there now would be a good time to go for it, Maybe!

Farewell Vegas, might see you again in a few years.

    Excellent work!!!!

Room looks ok, pity no flat screen telly etc, not up to ceasers standard but looks ok!

the tub looks pretty coooll!!!!!!!! ayee ;)

Agreed...personally we prefer other places to Luxor ourselves...for us the location is a drawback and just didn't really take to Luxor overall...but it's a decent enough place for the right price. There's actually another, larger telly in the unit in front of the bed...but don't recall it being a flat screen either.

    Yeah fair enuff dude...

not sure what we do, it depends on totally the amount of money we want to spend, i feel like we want a bit more luxury than that type of room, so MGM gran or Venetian might be a better option.....

any suggestions? been to ceasers as i say and had an augustus suite room......where would be comparatable?

    Great info about Luxor....

any pics of your time in luxor?

Looking to hopefully stay there next May but waiting for the deals to come out....

we were looking at a spa suite at luxor which looked quite cool....are there any recommendations for what rooms to go for or what tower/location?

    Rich

Sadly not of the room as such, but if you look at the picture of the spa room and take away the spa and replace with a table and chair, then put the window flat as oppose to cornered you'd have the room in the pyramid.

As for the pool here is one (only of the main pool, there are actually about 4 pools)

You've set the bar pretty high there!

We've not stayed in the Augustus Tower - only the Palace Tower which was quite nice...only places we've stayed that have been nicer are Bellagio and Wynn and haven't really ever stayed anywhere on par with Caesars, only

I think that the Bally's North Tower refurbished rooms are really good value, but they're no Caesars and they are certainly no Augustus Tower!

I think the Tower Suites at Luxor have been renovated...I think if you're coming from the Augustus Tower at Caesars, you're going to want to try for a relatively new room if you go elsewhere...I really don't think you'll like the pyramid rooms at Luxor. We don't expect a lot from a room and even we thought it was just OK.

Operated the Vegas and got back just a few days ago. IFE was no issue. However, yes I know how unpredictable it is.
Upgrade to Premium on a Vegas ( or any other flight ) really not going to happen - trust me.

If an individual IFE screen is not working, we will always attempt to reset it. Its like a computer, so we "reboot" it.
Failing that, there are loads of other things we can do.
worst case, we can give you an adapter to watch the same movie as the person next to you, or SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY ( sorry, do not want to be shouted at if there is none left) we have portable DVD players.

I have said it many many times, the gatwick 747's are really not that bad. I work on them and passengered on them many times and although it does not have the movie on demand like LHR (V:Port for frequent fliers) its OK.

Im going to Vegas on a long weekend in 2 weeks and not flying direct and dreading it, I would much prefer to bear the 747 than go via LA.
but hey thats just my own oppinion!

dude was that dodge charger thru dollar?

if so what size engine did you get? how was it etc?

It was through Carhire3000 (who will beat anyone esles quote) but yes the car was with Dollar. It was the basic model I think 2.7 litre, I specifically wanted a charger this time and it was the ONLy one they had in the compound. I preffered it (I think) to the 300, it has the look of an old american muscle car and as I said the boot was bigger and it drives better, I do like to drive fast though (yes i got a speeding ticket).

Only once has my IFE not worked and all the Sterwerdess did was try restting it then explain she could do nothing esle.

I complained to VS and got 15,000 miles. That was obviously before i realised how pointless flying club was (and i have 150k miles)

Your OH sounds a little bit Porcelain, tell him to get a grip.
