Is that per night or in total for the stay?

    Thats per night.

Any chance of a $20 tip upgrade at the sig from junior to a one bedroom?

other options now include excaliber or imperial palace but they are 3star :(

some of the rooms at Excalibur have been renovated (widescreen tower rooms, I think) and will be much, much nicer than any 3* hotel you've stayed at in Europe if that is your basis for comparison.

Also, it's way too early for the deals for May 2009 to start showing up...so anything you find now will likely be worst case scenario. Personally I wouldn't even think about booking a hotel until next year.

Some bigish conventions that month which will push rates up for the period they run:

Last Monday in May is a bank holiday there too which may impact rates.

Some have had luck but not all...they only have a small number of rooms (relatively speaking)

Planet Hollywood for location, then Luxor for style/atmosphere (IMHO) then MGM - it always seems to big for me...never really wanted to stay there

I'm another one who's never fancied staying at MGM. Last visit we stayed at PH and Luxor and liked them both.

We also don't mind staying at the bottom of the strip , never found it to be a problem and would rather stay there than further up near the Stratosphere .

Have also stayed at the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur and liked them too.

I've stayed in MGM, it was a bit of a pain because it was SO big. I frequently forget things and it was a pain having to go through the casino, wait for an elevator and walk 5 minutes down the corridor to the room. There was also a day when our room wasn't cleaned. Apart from that it was fine.

I still love the Venetian though. Even the cheapest most basic suites are amazing! :D

want it to be a nice room, although understand you don't stay in it for long, just don't want a falling apart room stinking of smoke in a loud place! lol! :)
