Aprilyou may notice that i have taken some pictures down from the guide , it is just so it is easier for me to do some re jigging.
i would really like to have just MSE members pictures on the guide , so others can see their snaps on there ,
so i will be inviting you all to post some pictures to go on the guide . i always intended to do this , bu it has taken me a while to get around too it
so to start , i would love put someones photo of either the The Las Vegas welcome sign or A long shot of the strip as the opening photo .

MarchAnyone have info on how much it would cost at walmart for a small fridge. Staying at planetho this trip and want to keep some cold beers and wifes Skinny Cow chocolate milk, usually just keep filling up the ice bucket but noticed on our last trip to Flamingo that someone had a small fridge delivered to there room to rent. Wondered if it might be cheaper to buy one.
I think that fridges are usually $10-$15/night...some have said that if you call housekeeping and ask for a fridge, you can get one for the price of a nice tip. Others have suggested saying you need it to store medicine as they will let you have one free then - personally, I think that's just a really bad idea myself. Tempting fate like that just isn't something I can recommend.
We take a small collapsible cool bag, fill it with ice and whatever we want to keep cold in the morning, zip it up and it's fine until evening. We empty it in the evening before bed and refill with ice and repeat.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchVons is on E Tropicano - its where we buy drink/food. If possible get a Vons card!
We've always been lucky - when they ask if we have a Vons card we bat our eyelashes and say we live in the UK and the cashier has always given us the Vons card discount. Good thing too as Vons is really overpriced (compared to WalMart, etc.) unless they have a special offer but is very convenient to the strip and we usually stop there once a trip for essentials, with WalMart later for our 'big' shop.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AugustI will have to look into Vons.
Being 26 but having the face of a teenager im no doubt going to suffer when ordering booze and entering into casinos.
I dont really wana be carting my Passport around as no doubt I will lose it- will a UK drivers licence be ok for age verification purposes?0 -
SeptemberCant wait to get back out to Vegas as flying out next Sunday. Did not do much sight seeing last time but plan to do more this time and wondered if any vegas veterans know any good prices for the following. Also thinking of doing the bungee jump off circus circus anyone know how much it is?
Grand canyon tours
hoover dam
helicopter flight over the strip
There is also a skydiving school in Vegas. They have an offer at the moment of $199 for a tandem jump! www.skydivelasvegas.com
I've booked mine for 3rd September...Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

I'm interested to see if it's just Signature that's working out cheaper with expedia as it seems that that is the hotel people are getting the good prices on with package deals and Signature doesn't currently have any deals elsewhere that run past 31st August 2008.
It may be that Expedia.co.uk is panicking about rooms it's pre-booked with the hotels to sell onto customers...with the current financial situation perhaps they're letting things go for a lot less than they normally would to entice people in?
I just checked a random one (Tropicana) and it's also coming up less on Expedia at the moment at least for the standard/garden room.
Interesting.
Still doesn't necessarily suit those who want the flexibility to look around for better deals closer to the time or those who gamble enough to have something taken off their bill...but for those who want to book and be done with it at the moment expedia.co.uk is an interesting option. So strange to say that as historically it's rarely been an interesting option.
I'm flying to Vegas on Tuesday for 16 nights. I used Expedia to book the Imperial Palace. At the time of booking the MGM offer wasn't cheaper than 16 nights at the IP, though the price Expedia gave me for the IP was a lot cheaper than with the IP direct!!!
In other words Expedia gave me the cheapest price with no discount codes or anythingI'll always use the site to cross-check prices at least!
