  • Can I ask how you booked this last minute please? I'm looking at last minute deals too, to go in the next couple of weeks. I'm not supposed to be going back to next year but OH has said if I can find something flights for under £1100, then we can go..... :T

Hubby called thomas cook and spoke to them direct...thats how he got the info about the wider seats (can't really find any information on the website about them...other than that they were planning to install wider seats).

Just got back from a whirlwind 5 night trip to celebrate my 40th birthday.

We stayed at the Four Seasons and I don't think I will ever stay anywhere else in Vegas, the quality of just about everything at the hotel was incredible. The rooms are situated on the top 5 floors of the Mandalay Bay. It really is a haven away from the madness of the casinos but there is a really cool connecting door that brings you out into the Mandalay Bay lobby.

Flew via Air Canada which was not quite the ordeal I expected. Very smooth connection in Vancouver on the way out but a delay in Toronto on the way back. The planes were quite old with no seat back AV but the service was good. Worth the £400 each rather than £750 than Virgin wanted (at the time of my booking).

As others have mentioned our planned activities were dropped after day 1 and we ended up settling into a nice routine of breakfast, pool, lunch, shopping, sleep, dinner, gambling. Survived on about 4 hours sleep a day so we are completely exhausted but very happy.

It was our first visit in 9 years so much has changed, especially around the middle of the strip. I remember TI being one of the larger hotel buildings but it now looks completely dwarfed by everything around it!

    Evening All,
sorry still can't work out how to post, only reply. Can anyone help me out on this.
Staying at MGM Grand and then onto Caesars Palace, booked "regular" rooms (i.e the cheapest) but am wondering if there are tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Can't be without my "first thing" cuppa. Was planning to take my kettle with me (how sad), but thinking that if I didn't have to take it, could get another pair of shoes in my case!
    Any help muchly appreciated :A
BTW going on Sunday - yippie :D

Sorry, no coffee making facilities in the rooms in the MGM Grand, at least not in the Bungalow Suites. There are coffee shops in the hotel though if you can drag yourself out of bed first thing in the morning!!

    Have a great time,

    Stew

Thanks Ferf1223. Managed to get through to Top Of The World restaurant, in the Stratosphere, more or less straightaway, to make a reservation for our anniversary.
One last question for anyone who knows. Are there places I can take my memory card and have the photos/film put on cd/dvd, over there?

Just a tip for the top of the world, go at least half an hour early, if not a bit more and then request to wait for a window table.

The wait will be around an hour but it is well worth it. Otherwise you will end up on the inner tables and having to look across other couples tables to see the view. The booths are fine, but again you are looking out over people and you are higher up which means you don't get the full view.

Also, skip the stratosphere model dessert, it looks fab but is very bland.

Also the sides are for 2 people. And you don't get anything with the steaks, so you will have to order a side. I ended up with a plate of steak as I just assumed it would come with some veg etc.

Thanks Baz. Love my steak, but definitely need something with it. From the pictures I've seen, it has to be a window view.

I have to say, while TOTW is not very MSE, the steak was the best i've ever had and the cheesy mashed potatoes were to die for! But i was really really cold, to the extent where i had to put OH's jacket on!

Airline network don't have a dollar car hire pick up point at The Palazzo where we are staying, can anyone suggest the easiest hotel to pick the car up from?

Ill be picking it up at 4pm and the just driving it back to the Palazzo but dont want to get too bogged down with directions or stuck in traffic on the strip and wot not so just want a nice easy exit out of the pick up point and into the Palazzo? Or does The Palazzo share the Venetian parking garage?

Also can you park overnight at any hotel or do you have to be a resident? If so I could just leave it where it is and pick it up at 6am the next morning ready to drive to the GC.

    Pick up points are:

    Luxor
    Circus circus
    mirage
    TI
    Excalibur
    MGM
    Monte Carlo
    NYNY
    Hilton
    Bellagio
    Mandalay Bay
    Sahara

    Any ideas?

With people finding cheaper hotel prices on expedia perhaps the first post in this thread should be updated?
