AprilStarting to look at hotels in more detail now, as I am hoping to see some deals starting to appear shortly.
One important factor is that we enjoy fresh air in our hotel room, as opposed to air-conditioning, so we would require rooms with opening windows.
I have checked on trip advisor and the only hotels mentioned there were-
Mirage, Imperial Palace and Excalibur.
Can anybody confirm this fact and/or add to this list ?
hello we had a widescreen view room last april in the excalibur and yes the windows did open but only a little.0 -

Great thread, have read all the pages in preparation for our weeks stay in November, booked our flight some time back with Virgin (!!!) but only paid £350 each so quite happy with that.

you may struggle with this requirement. every hotel room i have stayed in vegas has had windows that do not open. i cannot recall the windows @ The mirage opening . look into Signature @ MGM Grand they have balconys .Has anyone been to Margaritaville?
Thinking of going there been to there website it looks good.
yep it pretty fun in there. they have small fihing boats inside , made into tables for eating ect. food was pretty good and there was a live band on when we eat there. also do a wicked Margarita as you would expect.
i still use my Margaritaville hot beverage mug everyday i'm at work too. i would not like to think how many cups of tea it has had in itBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

When in November are you going? If your dates are over the 4th-7th I'd book sooner rather than later as there's a huge convention that period (we normally go that week but aren't this year).
I agree with Trets on the windows that open thing...Excalibur is the only hotel we've stayed at with windows that open. I've read that the bathroom windows at Gold Coast open...not sure if that's what you're looking for, though.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

One of the pools is adults only, though...I only mention it as the the OP and you mentioned taking children and the kids wouldn't benefit from both pools though the adults would.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

November/DecemberFolks really need some help here!
Decided against LA. The whole point of theis trip is to relax so i want as little travelling as possible.
Decided i will fly out in 6th November and return on 16th. So far the only direct flights that wont cost a couple of grand are the virgin ones but with all the bad reviews on here i dont like the sound of those. BMI are meant to fly direct on tuesdays thursdays and sundays but even though i put in dates like the above (leaving on a thursday and back on a sunday) the only flights that come up are indirect??
Im willing to up my budget to £600 per person to try and get a direct flight. Does anyone know how to access teh BMI direct ones or any other ideas? Thanks.0 -

On the BMI site click on the "my dates are flexible" and you'll get more choices.
I just had a look for you and direct flights 6th to 16th November are coming out at £969.20. 4th to 16th November is £844.20. When you get to the select flights, the lowest price flights will be highlighted. You need to change this to other flights to access the direct flights. The flight numbers for the direct flights are BD751 and 752.
Just looked at 4th to 14th November too. They come out at £704.20
Hope that helps.
I would also book a room provisionally for the first few days. We will be flying out on the 4th and the first week is almost double what we're paying for the next couple of weeks due to the convention ferf mentioned.0 -

have checked a few sites.. expedia, ebookers & justtheflight, and they have BMI direct flights available on those dates, but for around £850-£900
I have no problem with the Virgin flights, fly a couple of times a month with them...in Nov I am flying on 7th to see Madonna at the MGM Arena0 -
MayFor all the things we have said about Virgin and mostly bad, me included its mainly because they are not as good as they were! The staff are not as helpful or in attendance very much, but at the end of the day--
They get you there quick and direct! And one day Virgin will wake up to what is now being said about 'Richards' little baby and improvements will return.
Personally I do not mind a break in the flight but my wife hates it so we fly Virgin. And I moan every time----but give me a chance of going again with Virgin you just watch me---and then I can moan about it afterwards.:beer:Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
