Thanks so much pebblemax, thats really helpful. I've made a note of the three places you mention and will check them out. Much appreciated!

I can't believe its 7 weeks to go and my mind has only just turned to shopping....!

Edit- thanks nvh as well, I must have just missed your reply when writing this one. Thanks for reminding me of the sales tax, I admit it had slipped my mind! Will check them out now. I do love mse, where was i before it?!

I would normally also recommend Best Buy, but we noticed recently that at least some of the stores have removed them though a very few models are still available on the website though some are only available online.

Edited to add - there's a Circuit City right by Boulevard Mall as well - they did still have some Zens recently so another option for you - though Fry's may be the best place as it's massive. :)

We're Creative/Zen fans and would not buy ipods ourselves, but are intrigued by the Archos products - so perhaps an Archos would be an option if you can't find the Zen you want? I think it was Penny who recently posted a link to the one she (and my brother-in-law) have.

Heads up for anyone going to Las Vegas or USA in 2009 and beyond !!!

From 12th of January 2009 anyone wishing to travel to USA under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) will be required to obtain a ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) at least 3 days before traveling. you will still need to fill out your VWP I-94 form on the plane over though. the system went live today but is voluntary for travel to USA before 12th January 2009 .
you can full details on this new system here
you can find discussion about this on these MSE threads

But they are Warner Brothers films - so (at least at the time of the 1st one) had a prominent display on the Warner Brothers tour. :)
All the Harry potter stuff was still there on our tour in April :D

Heres a few more Vegas photos from last year.

Bellagio at dusk......I love the colours in the sky on this photo.

    img_0713482.jpg

Hoover Dam......nothing prepares you for the scale and size of something built seventy five years ago.

    img_0745386.jpg

Golf course and waterfall at The Wynn.....with strip real estate prices so high, its the last thing you expect to find there.

    img_0771743.jpg

And an "almost black and white" shot of Bellagio fountains at night.

Finally, here I am......admittedly feeling a bit rough after ten hours on a Virgin Atlantic seat.

Even if you hadn't had mentioned Mix, i was going to suggest it anyways :D

We didn't eat there, altho we meant to last time we went - it is expensive(ish... compared to where we normally eat! - tho notice they dont put prices on the online menu anymore! -> http://www.mandalaybay.com/images/dining/mix_menu.pdf ). Think a main course was around $40 tho don't quote me.

Anyways, we have been the bar there... went on a Monday night @ 8'ish so there was no cover charge and the 'reserved' signs weren't splattered over all the tables outside (which started to happen @ around 9'ish). Like most bars they reserve the good stuff for 'bottle service' which as a couple we've never really wanted to do unsurprisingly :D

Some fantastic views of the strip up there anyways... it was 2 years ago we went and think a drink cost around $5'ish

Here was a view from our table (not a good piccie tho - my camera doesn't like the dark):

I have not eaten at MIX (will do next trip) I have eaten at Voodoo and its great value and good food and nice view though the actual quality of the resturant is not all that.
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

    Midlandsfairy,

If you're buying MP3 players in the states have a look at the Microsoft Zune, I picked up an 80gb one in Chicago for about £140.00 and my brother got one in LA for about the same price. Does music, video, podcasts and photographs. Only problem is that they only sell them in the states and canada at the moment so back up if they go wrong maybe a little difficult but I do love my Zune!!
