I just got back from Vegas on the weekend, the after holiday glow is finally starting to wear off :(

It was my first time in Vegas (and hopefully won't be my last). I loved it and managed to pack in quite a few things in the 5 days that i was there, i went to see a Cirque Du Soleil show (KA at the MGM Grand) which was amazing, and a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon & the Hoover Dam (which i have to admit to not really enjoying, it made me feel a little sick, we got to fly back over the strip at sunset, that was a beautiful view). I stayed at The Bellagio which i thought was a fantastic hotel (i managed to get a free upgrade to a fountain facing room without doing $20 trick, i just asked nicely) i'd happily stay there again - there was a bomb scare and evacuation of the hotel whilst i was there at 1 in the momrning but the staff was great and handled everything really well, luckily in Vegas so many things are open 24/7 there was still lots to do.

Hopefully i will get the chance to go back some day soon, it was probably one of the best holidays i've been on, even the ridiculous heat didn't spoil things. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all their advice! And for anyone interested, i managed to find vegetarian food in most places so i wouldn't worry too much

I cant stand planes, 10 hour flight to NY nearly killed me!!

Are there any other direct flights to Las Vegas from anywhere in the UK/Ireland?

I might look at Flying into LAX, how far a drive is it to Vegas? I heard 4 hours?

Maybe I could fly to LAX, spend a day or 2 in LA, then drive to Vegas for 6/7 days and Back to LA to Fly home? Actually that sounds a lot more hassle than an indirect flight with a stop in chicago or philly.

Just to confirm the only direct flights are BMI from Manchester and Virgin from Gatwick? And is the info on the first page of this thread still true that the virgin planes are bad? I flew with virgin to florida last year and the plane was fine dunno if it was the airbus or 747 .

What way to New York did you fly? It only took us about 7hrs or something.
Then only 9 hrs or so to Orlando. In fact only about 11 to LA.

Went to NY from Dublin, had to stop in shannon though.

Flew from London to Florida direct and took 11 hours.

Just found a thomas cook flydrive.

    It says:

    Your price includes

    2 x Adult £1,140.00 2 x Transport Supplement £160.00 2 x Atol Protection (Apc) £2.00

    What is Transport supplement??

Ive actually found a couple of thses fly drives which include direct flights from manchester to vegas. But they are for only 7 nights. Does anyone know of a way i can book these flights myself to suit my own dates for a 10 night stay or are they simply packages?

It looks like the 10 and 11 night options for TC finish at the end of October. After that all I'm seeing is 7 or 14 nights. I usually use the Mytravel site because I find it easier to navigate then the TC one. Just my personal preference.

Have you tried kayak.co.uk for searching out flights? It's not bad, and you can get them to send you updates when the prices change.
