    Thanks for the advice!

Ill let you know how i get on. What is a good price for a return to Vegas. Is under £500 likely?

with the credit crunch and the very high oil price ....unknown . the late you leave it before the xmas rush ( and avoiding any /school / bank holiday) the cheaper you are likely to find flights. £500 is a reasonable budget IMO

one of the slowist weeks in vegas are the december weeks after National Rodeo finals and before Xmas week. you should be able to pick up some good rooms deals for then .

I'm flying out to Vegas on the 21st August, with my wife, to celebrate 30 years of marriage. We're flying with Virgin, and staying at the Imperial Palace (on recommendation). We've no idea what room we'll get. Would anyone advice the $20 bill trick? Or just ask for a Deluxe.

If you have a refundable deal i would recommend you try for another hotel, you may not want to spend your WA in IP. My friends describe it as the "Butlins of vegas".... :rotfl:

There are some good deals about at the moment.

Thanks ferf: looks like I going to have to up the spending allowance. If I were to order an ipod via Amazon whilst I'm in LV do you think they would delivery it to the hotel? Just a thought ....

Most hotels will charge to accept parcels for you. Gold Coast was $5, but some of the strip ones will most likely be a lot more.

We really only picked it for the location. Read mixed reviews, some good, some bad. Only way to tell, is to stay there.

This link should give you some idea of the rooms at IP. Click on each name to get a description. The Capri rooms are horrid. Do not accept one of those. The Standard and Deluxe are much the same, but have different decor. If it's your anniversary, make sure that you tell them and try the $20 for a Luv Tub room, .

Are hotels okay with leaving of envelopes for guests that are arriving at a hotel?

I will be leaving just before a friend arrives in Vegas and so was planning on leaving a little Honeymoon present in an envelope for them.

Coupons: I'll take a chance and try to get the American Casino Guide in LV, but can anyone let me know where are the best places to find coupons. I love Coupons ;) .....
    Hi Sue,
Aside from buying the ACG you can find coupons all over vegas. A few of the best places are:-
1 In the seat racks in taxis - there are booklets with lots of vouchers and coupons inside.
2 In the magazine stands in most of the casinos - they have free maps and quite a few coupons in them - they tend to be by the entrances. If you are planning to go to Ellis Island Casino there are loads of magazines/coupons etc in their entrace!
3 When you sign up to some of the Players Clubs you get what they call "Funbooks" which include loads of coupons for free buffets and discount vouchers of certain things.
Thats about it really! happy hunting :)

if you must go direct your better off searching the airlines own websites 1st. BMI , Virgin and My Travel ( search for a "sun" holiday to las vegas and you get a fly drive option without accomidation ..post back here if you go for this as it includes car hire that has nasty strings attached if you use it) .

    other than that try here

    http://www.flightcomparison.co.uk/flightcomparison/index.aspx

    and here

    http://www.airline-network.co.uk/SpecialOffersGatewayWeb/Gateway.aspx?DESTAREA=NUS&DESTCOUNTRY=USA&DESTCITY=LAS&OFFERID=6f482bb6-d0bd-4d51-a763-5bc0c051a519&CABIN=1&PREMIUMONLY=False

Ive been following your advice but so far the flights are costing well over a grand

Any cheap ones i get are connecting flights with 14 hr + travel times.

Is it possible to get cheap direct flights or will i have to choose a cheaper longer trip or a shorter dearer one (i hate flying!)

And am i right in saying the only direct flights are virgin from gatwick and bmi from manchester on Tuesday/Thursday/Sundays?
