We have booked the Miragte for $72 per night (I think thet saturday is a bit more) over Xmas underneath.
We once booked two seperate nights at the golden nugget it was becasue our plans chanegd but there was no issue I can not see that there woudl any problem elsewhere except that tokeep the same room they would probably give yuo the same amount of couchers as if you only had one booking.

When I tried to book 4 nights at the $51 dollar rate, the rates when back up to the normal charge. If I book one 1 night it stays at the $51 rate, can I book 4 nights individually or would that be spotted.
Once again, any help would be soo appreciated.
Sue is right - thats one of the oddities of the MGM/Mirage booking engine.

Say the calendar displays $100 for 1st June, $150 2nd June, $150 for 3rd June, and $100 for 4th June. Youd think that a booking for those dates would come up with $500. But no, when you try to book those dates, it may come up with $100, $200, $300, $400.

They get you with the statement

Displayed rates are based on Single Night Stay, single or double occupancy.
Rates and availability may vary by arrival and stay length.

The price of a room changes dependent on whether you were there the previous day and whether youre there the next day.

The only way to be sure you get the calendar rates is as you suggest make multiple bookings eg day 1 Mr VISA, day 2 Mrs VISA, day 3 Mr Mastercard, day 4 Mrs Mastercard.

It has been suggested that if you ask at checkin, they will merge the bookings so you dont have to change rooms....Id be interested to find out if they will do this. You dont want to checkout at 11am every day and check back in at 3pm!!!

All you can do is trial and error to find blocks of dates at the calendar rate, and make a supplementary booking(s) to fill up your holiday.....maybe consider moving to a different hotel after two or three days.

Also, by having multiple bookings, either same hotel or different hotel, you maximise the number of freebies you get eg $25 food credit x 4 nights!!!

Thanks again for all your help. I'm trying to book for the 25th to 29th August (checking out on 30th). Hub's not too happy about make 5 separate booking just in case they make us keep changing rooms, but not too bothered about giving up "freebies".

They will not make you change rooms I have had seperate bookings for the same stay several times due to flighst changing in fact at present I am booked from 17/12 at Mirage and this will have to change to a check in on the 16th as United changed my flight so I was going via Chicago adn I only want a short internal so opted to fly a day earlier. If you are worried at all just tip the check in clerk when you hand over the booking ref or even call them before you go ( I would not) if tyou can use skype this i the number for Mirage (+1) 702 791 7111. You can also try the $20 (but i will make it a bit more at Mirage) trick as stated here http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2007/12/05/las-vegas-20-free-room-upgrade-trick/

Have a great trick hope this helps

    I've been Money Tipped!

    :D

    Hi all,

I "think", i know what i want............. It takes me 20 mins to decide what i want from a McDonalds menu so with all the advice and guidence available on this site it has made my chosing murder. I have told my missus " ok this one is deffo the one " so many times ,at some point i think i have chosen eto stay at every hotel on and off the strip at various differnt times...:(

However, having looked at Location, pool, price and facilities my preference in order are TI, Paris, and Harrah's, for a final double check i would value your opinion on these.

We are not driven by the room standard as we will be out most of the time, but do want a nice pool combined with the option of walking locally.
We are going 4 to 14 August and have the following prices:

    TI $1230
    Paris $1456
    Harrahs's $1270

Also whilst i am on rush..........we are flying with AA and cannot understand their web site to see if we have in seat videos consoles or not, does any body know?

    Cheers in advance

    Hi Steve,

My advice is to split yuor trip between two hotels and get two experiences do one at one end of the Strip like TI or Harrahs and another the other end NYNY, MGM or MOnte Carlo but you probably dont want to hear this ;-)

OK my view on the three that you have chosen
Paris has the nicest pool out of the three but none of them are pools that are near the top of the list on the Strip TI's is marginally better than Harrahs.

Paris has the nicest rooms and the best service and also the best theming, its also the best central location and has a monorail station. I woudl put the location of TI and Hararhs on a Par. TI is connected to Mirage by a walkway and next door to the Fashions Show Mall oppersite Venitian and close to Wynn. Harrahs is in the FLamingo/Harrahs/IP sprawl whilst central its not as nice as TI or Paris.

I would only stay at Harrahs if itw as an exceptional deal out of these 3 I would choose Paris, and then TI I think.

    Excellent Simon,

    Thank you very much, :(:(:(:(

I did not want to split but now you mention it............... I didn't fancy the booking in and out experience twice but hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

My good lady likes the idea, cheers mate ;)

Pool wise, i know that these are not the best but the better ones did not have what i liked (or thought i liked). I have monte carlo already booked so i suppose.........

Any way thanks mate, i feel all this pre stuff adds to the holiday, i will let you know what i decide, or perhaps you could just decide for me :) "VIVA LAS VEGAS".

    Regards

Not sure what the issue is - I just checked and checking in on 25th August, checking out on 30th August

    8/25 $51.00 8/26 $51.00 8/27 $51.00 8/28 $51.00 8/29 $131.00

    - SubTotal: $335.00

    So maybe try again?

Ok, hang on - how many people are you booking? My rates were for 2...if you have more than 2 the rates go up...$20/night for 3 people, $40/night for 4 people.

Also, I note that those rates are for a widescreen tower room which have been recently renovated. We've stayed at Excalibur a few times though not recently - it was always fine for us, and in a renovated room, for that price, I think it will be just fine.

I agree with Simon in terms of the order he suggested - I wouldn't choose Harrah's unless you got a spectacular deal there - we hated our hotel room there...it was clean and decent enough but soooo tiny and hot...we had 2 nights free and checked out after 1 (were booked elsewhere as well)...but we gave up a free night because we were that unhappy with the room. Like the casino and LOVE Toby Keith's restaurant - total country music immersion experience...I had a blast.

and splitting your trip can be fun...we never do it as we don't like to have to pack up and move, but I know loads of people who do and love it.

I agree that all the pre-stuff adds to the holiday...and I think that ultimately it adds to the enjoyment as you've done some research and know what to expect - know some tips that many newbies don't and can really get a lot more out of the experience.

    Good luck!
