     well this is a 1st. there is plenty of discussion about this on the other vegas message boards .

i would advise calling them and make it clear that if they do not honor the booking you will definatlly be staying elsewhere .

also keep and eye on this subject at this link

    http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37306

there are plenty of none MGM grand group casinos to choose from , and i would be booking one if they weasled out of this booking

I think that the should honour it, they have told somone on another forum that this was caused by a hacker which has to be a fib. A friend of mine cancelled his room at Goldcoase for thsi and even paid a $25 cancellation fee !

i cannot see how they cannot honor it. they made a mistake but it was not a completely obvious mistake . in any case with the current situation in Vegas it seemed like a genuine good deal to get people through the door.

which of course they will now have , but they will have a lot of bad feeling against them if they come up with silly excuses and try to do a U turn. i for one would boycott them for life if they did not honor my booking.

good luck everyone who has booked this offer and lets us know what happens ;)
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

AA has a fare sale on until 15th July -

    http://www.americanairlines.co.uk/content/uk/specialOffers/fareSale2.jhtml

Some sub-£400 fares from London and Manchester for November and early December...some sub-£300 fares to NYC as well.

There have been a few posts about airlines within this thread and I know that US Airways has been mentioned a few times.

Ive just read a news article stating that US Airways are going to stop showing in-flight movies from November.

Equipment is too heavy and with rising fuel costs its not profitable and the take up of passengers paying $5 for headphones isnt great.

Actually, the article states that it is only on internal (domestic) US flights. NOT on long-haul flights...

New to this, so hope this finds it's way onto the Vegas board (can't find out how to post a message).

Am planning our first trip to Vegas (celebrating 50th and 60th Birthday's plus our 25th Wedding Anniversary) talk about killing 2 birds with one stone! Can anyone advise if a 2 hour stop over, outwards stopping at Newark and return stopping at George Bush International (thinks that's Texas but not too sure), will be long enough. I don't even know if we would have to collect baggage, clear customs and immigration, then check back-on.

There seems to be so many "seasoned" L.V'ers in this board, I'm sure someone must have done this before. Well I hope so.....

Thanks for anyone who can take the time to help. :A

Hi there, I will try to expalin what happens in your transit and that shoudl help you. When you land in Newark you will need to queue up to clear immigartion this is the longest partfo the process, how long it takes depends on what time of day, where you sit on the plane and how many other international flights have landed at the same time. MAke sure you stay together going through and keep your return tickets with you and you green Visa Waiver forms aer all reaady filled out. I have never changed in Newark so I cant tell you an average time. If you flight is late or it looks like its going to be tight one of you should make an official (not one at the booth) aware and show them your tickets. Once you have gone through immigration you will collect your bags and walk through customs about 20 yards later you put your bags in a drop and see them at a destination. Remeber not to buy any liquids that you want to take in your hand luggage either in London or on the flight as they will not let you take these on your internal. When you get to LAS as you have cleaed immigration and customs you walk straight to collect your bags then your cab toyour hotel. Coming home is fare easier you check your luggage in at LAS and show your passport to checkin clerk, you then do not see your bags again until you get home. At George Bush yuo will just make your way to the departure gate and the Stewardess woman will remove the green slip from your passport and thats it. I have done a transfer at LAX from stepping off one plane to stepping on the other in 7 minutes ;-) Only once (oh and one time when I had no return ticket)in my 40 or so trips to States has clearing immigration and customs taken over an hour and that was George Bush (which you are right is in Houston, TX) and it took 2 hours but we were the last plane out of three international planes and we were last off. My last two trips have been via SFO and Chicago and the whole process there took less than 30 minutes.

Not sure how sew does it but some airlines do have power sockets in some economy seats - seat guru shows them for various plane types - so those with laptops could try to grab those seats when booking...no guarantee as you may be reassigned, but it may work.

Depending on the type of plane the power port will be different and some require a converter...more info here:

You could also buy a 2nd battery which may not be cheap, but depending on how often you fly and how long you expect to have the laptop it may be worth it. :)

We use Creative video players rather than a laptop and have one of these:

Which has always gotten both of us through a flight on 4 AA batteries...it works even better if you plug it in to begin with and just let it top up the battery as it's used rather than plugging it in once the battery is flat - one review I read a guy tested it and got 17 hours of play out of 4 AA batteries this way.

Some lappys now have solid state memory rather than a hard drive which gobbles up the power bigtime.

I take an Archos 605 160gb it holds music, games, and movies/tv programmes, you can record directly from your tv if you have the add on adaptor, and it also has wifi.
