Can you buy chips using credit cards, or enter tournaments using credit cards?
Just trying to calculate how to split my £3000 between credit card, cash and travellers cheques for my 17 days in vegas[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

When I went, it was 50% TC and 50% cash. Unless youve got a NW or PO credit card, dont waste your money.
My theory was that anything I came back with was a bonus.....still got a nice stash waiting for my next visitillegitimi non carborundum0 -
I do have a PO credit card. Got accepted today though don't know my credit limit yet.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Ok I have a £3200 credit limit, more than enough..
So... I'm planning on:
£500 in cash
£1750 in travellers cheques
£750 left behind in my account used to pay off credit card next month.
That way I can use credit card for food and entertainment for 17 days, and it should be around the £750 mark but I can use internet banking to check and keep tabs while I'm there...
The £500 cash is starter cash and poker... then if I lose it all I have the travellers cheques to top up my bankroll, and if not then I don't have to touch them.
Finally using travelex, spend £3.50 to get buyback on the cash and travellers cheques, and also get them to price match somewhere higher so the $ is cheaper but I get the buyback option!
Sound good? All so complicated![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

If you are taking cash, why not take all cash and save on the TC commision charge when buying them, better still open a nationwide account and get the debit card, but its great that you have now got the PO CC. If you do take cash and Tc why not use the TC first and then no need to cahnge anything back0 -
November/DecemberAFAIK you can not buy chips using a card at the table, you get a marker from the cage, but then it is the same as a cash withdrawl and you will be hit hard by your card company.
Last time I used a marker it was at NYNY I guarenteed it with my card and then settled it cash nothing was taken off of my card. Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
I got rejected for a nationwide account. There is no TC commission charge from travelex, and they guarentee the best exchange rate, plus the buy back. And finally TC's are insured against loss and theft and i'm taking £1750 so rather do that then cash. Plus I may not even need them.
I will get the TC in USD from travelex, then convert them for free 1:1 to real USD in a designated location (there are a few banks that do it for free in the states)
Finally the I will take £500 in cash because if i lose that and convert TC to cash, I want to be able to buyback the cash too[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
