I can only comment on the top of the world, but two of us had a large (and I mean LARGE) glass of wine, 3 courses a bottle of wine and coffees, and it came to less than £100. In terms of attire, we were told no sports wear, no jeans or trainers, no tank tops (like you would) and that all mens tops must have collars. I just wore smartish trousers, shoes and shirt and it was all fine. You need to book early, I have already booked for the first two weeks in september (which is a bit well organised - but at least a month in advance should garauntee a table) if you get there early you can ask to wait til an 'outer' table is available (better views) and you can sit in the bar and have a drink until the buzzer goes off as notification

Sorry made a mess of the prices it was about £120-£130, not really sure how I made the mess, up sorry for giving anyone the wrong impression

Not sure what EPL is but Premiership games are shown live in many sports books we watched 5 Premiership games at the same time whilst eating breakfast at MGM it was great.

Edited to add - we're not snooty, difficult to please diners, either. Heck, one of our favorites is EI BBQ, after all. :)
Now you're talking!! That and a 4x4 animal style at in&out burger are my staple dining experiences (prefer to save my money for shopping and gambling):D
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I was not over impressed. Good value but I had to send my prime rib back because in 1 1/2 lbs. of cow, only about 1/2 lb. was edible meat, the rest was bone and fat, which they tried to tell me was to add tenderness to the steak. Honest, sometimes these Americans think we were born yesterday. (and yes, I am American)

Sorry cant comment on meridian. Have you been to Vegas before? If you havent I would not reccomend staying off strip. I usually have a couple of nights at the Orleans (off strip) for a change but I have been a few times and even then I pine to be back on the strip.

I pine for the Orleans when staying on the strip-I positively enjoy escaping from the craziness back to the relative calmness of the Orleans and I reckon it's as quick to get from the Strip to the Orleans as it is to get from Bills to some of the other Strip hotels -and breakfast for $7 that leaves me unable to eat for the rest of the day isn't bad either !!
    A week tomorrow I'll be there !!! :j

    Top of the World
I know its supposed to be a lot better at night and everything, but we did "Top of the World" restaurant for Sunday dinner and it was really quiet (ok, it was early december) and managed to have 2 courses and alcoholic drinks for approx. $60 (£30), so maybe try a lunch sitting if you really want to do it but the price puts you off (even though you dont get the lights i guess, you still get a good rotating view whilst eating) and the staff were really friendly :)

    Grand Canyon
We too did Bright Angel 6 weeks ago - there were a few parking spaces around (arrived @ 2pm'ish), but as the afternoon went on, more spaces appeared to the point where i managed to park outside our room.

Agree with others, not a great deal at night but was really warm, we just sat outside on a bench staring into the darkness :)

you can also see some lights occassionally at the bottom of the canyon... would love to trek down there some time :)

We drove around rather than taking the shuttle too :) - pretty certain the 'hermit' route was closed for the year due to resurfacing tho (but dont quote me on that) - i know its usually a shuttle bus 'only' route but i think it was even closed to them...

The thing I really liked about it was that the waiters (I think that hey were Indian which is strange as Indians dont eat beef) seemed to realy know there stuff ad spent ages before Iordered explaining what was what and tryingto hlep me decide what Iwould like
