MayI've been told that there was a slot booked at the MGM Grand for a saturday night in September, for Oscar De la Hoya and Flloyd Mayweather rematch. With Mayweather now retiring the slot is free, I've heard that there is a chance that Joe Calzaghe may be lined up to flight, I've not been able to find anything out about it, though Joe was on Jonathon Ross last week and did say that he might be fighting again towards the end of the year, but that nothing was definate. Just wondered if anyone else had heard anything similar and if so what date it could be?
Cheers

November/Decemberclaire- we hope to go on or around 25th April for 8-9 nights. we are me, hubby, son &wife & adult daughter. Now we are a close family, but daughter to old to sleep in same room as us, even though there may be 2 queen beds, so thought a sofa bed would suffice. son & wife want own room. Pricewise, we're not flashy, but we have a policy maturing so we are applying our motto- spend half, save half. So we are making this the holiday of a lifetime and we are not going to stay in budget motel. we would prefer central as hubby doesn't want to drive. Incidentally, this is all going to be a surprise for son & daughter, they think we are "treating " them to a week in Spain. Cant wait to see their faces at Christmas when we tell them.
Incidently, I've been looking for Virgin flights manchester non stop- cant seem to find it. Anyone know. i know its not the best flight, but cant face a change in USA.
Katykat Only BMI fly direct from manchester, virgin fly direct from London. If you can be flexible I wold advise to travel after April 25th, perhaps on the following mon- its a saturday and you will find in vegas that the room rates on a fri and sat can be up to treble what they are during the week. As you plan to stay 8-9 days it would cut down your cost to have only one weekend stay during that time, if you see what i mean.
A one bedroom suite would be perfect for 3 people and you and your husband could have the bedroom with bathroom, and your daughter cold have the sofa bed in the separate living area that has its own showerroom off it. A junior suite would be perfect for your daughter and son in law.
The rates for these rooms online now are actually pretty good. Plus, if you book direct with the hotel you can always cancel if a better deal comes along (usually cancellable up to 72 hrs before) or ring up and have the rate adjusted if the rates for your dates come down. I usually book a hotel as soon as i know im going, then wait and see what offers and promo codes are released closer to the time.
Hope this helps somewhat, and keep checking this thread as it will be invaluable in planing your trip. Good luck!:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -

i definitely think it makes sense to go on a tues, and that way keep costs down by having only one weekend in vegas. Trust me, there are plenty of things to do in vegas that you can spend that extra money on lol:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -

you go fly direct from Manchester with Thomas Cook also, but only if you go for 7 or 14 nights0 -

not just BMI direct from manchester , Thomas cook (AKA as My travel) also fly on Wednesdays (and some weekends in the summer only) . trouble wth Manchester carriers is they don't go everyday and have smaller planes meaning , not nearly as many seats going over each week , which adds upto high prices for BMI in busy periods but reasonable in quite weeks ( we payed £292 each for week before Xmas last year) , while real bargains can be had with My Travel , if you are prepared to risk a late booking ( and risk the flight selling out) . Search the My Travel website for flights , it is easier to navigate than the Thomas cook site. watch the lousy baggage allowance though.I've just been browsing on Expedia and found a Las Vegas Power Pass. Is this any good? Can you buy them in Las Vegas or do they have to be bought before travelling?
what do you get? and for what price ??? please post a link to itTrying to book my helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon, and have been advised by anyone I've spoken to that first thing in the morning is best. However, after comparing loads of packages, my top 2 are with companies who seem to have stopped their 7am flights.
we flew late afternoon /early evening and it was spectacular as you see different colours ect in the canyons , and we saw the strip lighting up beneath us .

I think on the power pass the only way to know if it's worth it is to go through the list of things it covers, check the prices for those things (with or without discounts available, depending on whether you would seek out the discounts) and then decide if it's value for money. Sure, if you do everything on the list it probably is, but would you?
Personally, I've never bought one as you have to buy the pass for a number of days and the price goes up each day that the pass would be valid...so it either means a day of really rushing around to get everything done or paying more for extra days.
Remember that the Star Trek Experience is available at the 1/2 price ticket booths.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
