But what exchange rate did you get when you loaded the card with dollars? I assume that you paid GBP and they gave you a card with USD so what exchange rate they gave you in the conversion is what's most important I think...as Going Places is a high street travel agent I would be wary of the exchange rate they will give you. :) One of my colleagues bought USD from a high street travel agent about a year ago and got exactly $0.20/£1 less than she could have gotten at LinkFX around the corner from our office. Poor dear.

they were offering $2 to the £ at the time, if memory serves me right

    November/December
Well since a loot of peeps seem to be booking flights can i be cheeky and pick your brains- anyone come across any good flight prices for december, ideally flying out on the 10th, 11th? We went this time last year and booked flights around the start of July IIRC (Virgin M&M £330), and are hoping to do the same again. Cheapest I've come across to date was £428 with Delta, but admittedly haven't looked in about a week. Can fly from any Uk airport, and also considering flying into LA but would need to investigate it further.

claire- we hope to go on or around 25th April for 8-9 nights. we are me, hubby, son &wife & adult daughter. Now we are a close family, but daughter to old to sleep in same room as us, even though there may be 2 queen beds, so thought a sofa bed would suffice. son & wife want own room. Pricewise, we're not flashy, but we have a policy maturing so we are applying our motto- spend half, save half. So we are making this the holiday of a lifetime and we are not going to stay in budget motel. we would prefer central as hubby doesn't want to drive. Incidentally, this is all going to be a surprise for son & daughter, they think we are "treating " them to a week in Spain. Cant wait to see their faces at Christmas when we tell them.
Incidently, I've been looking for Virgin flights manchester non stop- cant seem to find it. Anyone know. i know its not the best flight, but cant face a change in USA.

I think I'm going to have spent longer researching my trip than I'm actually going to spend in Vegas!

Trying to book my helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon, and have been advised by anyone I've spoken to that first thing in the morning is best. However, after comparing loads of packages, my top 2 are with companies who seem to have stopped their 7am flights.

I've just spoken to Papillon who confirmed they no longer do them, and from searching various dates on www.grandcanyonhelicoptersaz.com, they don't seem to have them anymore either!

Anyone know why some companies seem to have stopped these flights? Is the 10am going to be far too hot (end of August)?

    Thanks!

I've been told that there was a slot booked at the MGM Grand for a saturday night in September, for Oscar De la Hoya and Flloyd Mayweather rematch. With Mayweather now retiring the slot is free, I've heard that there is a chance that Joe Calzaghe may be lined up to flight, I've not been able to find anything out about it, though Joe was on Jonathon Ross last week and did say that he might be fighting again towards the end of the year, but that nothing was definate. Just wondered if anyone else had heard anything similar and if so what date it could be?

    Cheers

I've just been browsing on Expedia and found a Las Vegas Power Pass. Is this any good? Can you buy them in Las Vegas or do they have to be bought before travelling?
