I'm planning on getting a post office credit card, and using my halifax debit card to withdraw a large amount of cash when I get there.. With that I'll ask teh casino for loads of $1 chips in that, and use the cash for poker, then the credit card for meals/purchases...
I dont fancy using the halifax card but I was rejected a nationwide account so no choice!
I might be wrong but I think the Halifax debit card is one of the worst cards to use (check martins travelmoneymaximiser) because of the loading and exchange rate, I am not sure which is the best way though if you cant get a nationwide card0 -

Well I would take cash but I'm planning on taking a lot... so I guess travellers cheques would be better?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

MayYes the Halifax is one of the worst for withdrawing cash. It will cost you £29 for withdrawing £500  See HERE You would probably be cheaper getting travellers cheques before you go from www.crowncurrencyexchange.co.uk The rate may be lower than with a Nationwide card, but you will avoid the transaction fees.0

Get on CROWN CURRENY EXCHANE website and pre-order them. You get the best rates on there!0

ok so lets say I have £3000 for Vegas...
I should get £3000 of travellers cheques (USD) from crown currency exchange and take them?
What if I don't use them all? Insurance too?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Has anyone flown with Delta? I'm reading a lot of bad things about them but they are pretty cheap.0

MayI wouldn't take all of it in US$ TC's, just take what you think you are going to spend and take the hit of any amount over that that you need to withdraw.
It's impossible to say how much to take as it depends on how long you are staying and how much shopping and gambling you do. I would allow $50-100 per day for meals, tips and incidentals. Add to that how much per day you intend gambling and how much you think you will spend on shopping.
What do you mean by "insurance too"?0
