I think you can have a bad flight with anyone to be honest Tango Bunny and I do think Ferf was unlucky. I'm elite with AA and if they'd treated me like that (I usually get upgraded to first from Chicago to Vegas) I'd have gone ballistic. It isn't the taking away of the upgrade (although that's gotta hurt) it's the manner in which it is done.
I'd still consider CO if the price is right.....and you can avoid the long trek to Heathrow.

Going to Vegas on 23rd August (first time - getting excited now!), and I've started to think about currency.

From reading the great posts on this thread I think I'm now clued up on who to tip and how much (especially all those $1 for my drinks when playing the slots!). It would seem I'm going to require a reasonable amount of small denomination dollars.

In the past, I've found it impossible to order these in the UK. How does everyone else make sure they have some for when they hit the ground in Vegas?

We didn't get any currency before our first visit to Vegas. What we did was get some from an ATM at the airport as soon as we landed. We then bought coffees, etc to get change and that sorted us out for paying the taxi.

It was easy then to get change from the cashier's cage at any casino.

We do the same as luci. Also there are bill breaker machines on the casino floors where you can change notes into smaller denomination ones, really handy for when you need to break notes to tip the CW :D

If your using Travelex with a price match before departure , they will usually stick a fair few $1 and $5 bills in if you ask at the counter .

    Have fun ;)

I'm going 3 days after for my 21st birthday :)

I'm planning on getting a post office credit card, and using my halifax debit card to withdraw a large amount of cash when I get there.. With that I'll ask teh casino for loads of $1 chips in that, and use the cash for poker, then the credit card for meals/purchases...

I dont fancy using the halifax card but I was rejected a nationwide account so no choice!
