OctoberOh Ferf that's a horrible thing to happen to you...not once but twice.....especially with you being frequent flyers with them.......I really dont know what to do now.....mind you I have got a good 6 months to think about it before we book our flights....:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0

I have done so much research on economy comfort in the last couple of weeks, read all the forums etc and my conclusion is they are all as bad as each other,(with Virgin at the bottom of the pile:rotfl: ) so it comes down to, IMO if the price is right book it.0 -
MayI have no complaints about Virgin, and I travel at least once a month with them.
The seats are fine, I am not tall so dont worry about legroom
I take my archos loaded with tv programmes or movies to watch, and invested in some noise cancelling headphones, so if the IFE isnt working it doesnt bother me.
I preorder a vegetarian meal, which usually comes around before the meals are served to the main cabin, and take my used tray back to the galley so not sitting with it on my lap.
Pricewise they are more expensive than others, but for a direct flight i dont mind paying a bit more.0 -
OctoberI'm not that bothered about Virgin.....as I've said before having only been to Vegas the once and that was with them I have absolutely nothing to compare the flight with....it was a damn sight better than BMI baby or Thomsons even though it was twice the distance/time......
the only reason I'm considering the Continental flight is the proximity of the airport to us.....with us living in Wales we dont have a choice as everywhere is miles from us and requires a 4-5 hour journey before we've even left the ground.Brisrol is so much more convenient for us.
Since my OH had a heart bypass 6 years ago he doesn't like driving long distances so if we do go Virgin from Gatwick we'll have to either drive up the day before and stay in a b+b overnight (so that he can take his time) or we'll have to go via train again the day before with the added accommodation cost.
Last year as we were 3 we had airport transport to take us at a cost of £240 return this will have gone up considerably by next year so it's not an option.
At the end of the day beggars cant be choosers and as I see it we have little choice
Our only other option is Cardiff to Amsterdam and then on to Vegas from there which I believe is more expensive again:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

It's not the price or the airline that puts me off ....it's the distance I have to travel before I can get on the bloody plane:rotfl::rotfl::hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

In all honesty we really liked Continental until the 3 incidents on consecutive trips with them (theft from luggage, downgrade, oversold) I mentioned...I can totally understand the allure of flying from a local airport and all airlines will have its share of detractors - remember that people are always more likely to post a complaint than praise...I think the only way you will really know is if you try Continental out...for all you know it will be brilliant for you - we raved about them to people for years and they were always our first choice and like you say, there is value in flying from closer to home.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Oh dear that is lousy........on the bright side often it takes up to a week for lost property to actually reach lost property and be listed so it MAY still turn up.
I fly out on the 16th and am happy to check lost property at LAS if you've not had any joy by then-you never know !
If all else fails though-placate the missus with the thought that you can go again next year and replace the photos !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

thats very bad news. hopefully you will get lucky.
it is easy to lose them after you get them home , if your hard drive packs up, like happened to me a while back.
fortunatly i use Picassa online storage to upload all photos , and it has proved invaluableBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
