Octoberoooo thats good news....seriously considering flying with them from Bristol to New York then connecting to Vegas from there.
According to continental and Virgin both seat pitches are 31" not sure of the width for Virgin seats but Continentals are 17.2":hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

Flew Indirect from Manchester to Vegas in 2005 - Very comfy leather chairs with great welcome pack of pillow, headphones and blanket, tasty food and good film choices.
Friendliness of cabin crew left a little to be desired, but that doesnt really bother me too much. Our connection was at Newark and unfortunately, the flight was running late so my case didnt arrive in vegas when we did (my other half's did!!) but it did arrive at 2am the next day - I was VERY relieved!
I would definately fly with them again if the price was right - from my experience they tend to be a bit more pricey for indirect flights than others for my chosen dates.
Steff:hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0 -
Can anyone advise me on this please? Im 27 and going back to Vegas for my second time, the wife drives and so takes her photo drivers licence, I dont and as such had to take my passport pretty much everywhere with me, not something I am too keen on doing. Can anyone give me an idea of a good photo ID thats not gonna cost too much, is fairly easy to get hold of, and will be back within a couple of months?
Cheers
S
The only photo ID I have is my passport so I carry that around with me, havent lost it yet so no problem, if I did lose it well that would just give me extra timein Vegas:T :T :T0 -

We had EXACTLY this choice this year.
We have show tickets for the MGM for several nights so it was first choice until we talked it through (mixed group one couple and mum and teenager) and realised none of us like the Mega hotels and the shuttle to the strip from the Orleans probably takes less time than walking from some of the rooms in the MGM to the Strip-prices have ended up almost exactly half with the latest Orleans discounts so for 7 nights we're paying $290 (only one weekend night -we're in Arizona for Saturday night) with a couple of free breakfasts thrown in too.
Entertainment value should be high at the Orleans as there's a beauty pagent on when we're there-always good for a giggle people watching around those kind of events-and Cool and the Gang are playing the Orleans arena which will be fun. (I think I've stayed at the Orleans 6 times now and we've always ended up paying much less than the website price by using their price match)
We have lots of friends staying at the MGM that week for the shows there so will probably spend time there too but I'm sure we won't regret staying at the Orleans again and our food costs will be very reasonable when we eat there as opposed to the strip and more cash for spending when we ARE on the Strip.

Are they better than Easy Jet and Ryanair? If so I think I'll be ok when I go at the end of Sept!0 -
OctoberI will second duchys comments - I really enjoyed their flight.

Yes granted the price is more than others but I will save ££££ on not having to travel to London or Manchester as I'll be able to go from Bristol
even with my miles+money a virgin price would still be a lot more so I'd be quids better off.
In order for us to go from Gatwick /Heathrow or Manchester it would mean a stay overnight which would bump the price of the trip up or a drive up at some unearthly early time in the morning
To go from Bristol would mean only a 2 hour drive plus car park cost of £47 added with the cost of the flights @ £506 each(based on this years prices).....still cheaper than me travelling up to London for a cheaper flight:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

I tried to make myself delete this as it's really not relevant, not exactly...but I cannot help myself....and you did ask 'what Continental airlines are like to fly with'...not 'what are the seats like'.
Continental used to be our airline of choice and we were silver or platinum or whatever with them for several years...we now refuse to fly with them but it has nothing to do with the actual flights themselves but rather 3 consecutive incidents of shocking customer service...the final straw was when we flew with them to Vegas via Houston...all was fine until a few weeks before when our seat reservations vanished from the final leg from Houston to London...we called and were told that there must have been an aircraft change or something and they couldn't assign us new seats but don't worry, they'll assign them at check-in in Vegas.
In Vegas they told us they would assign the seats in Houston, no problem.
In Houston we were told 'oh, no, sorry - the flight's oversold and you're on the oversold list'.
we had booked the flights about 11 months prior so certainly weren't the last to book.
The flight was oversold by 23 seats...everyone on the oversold list had a cheap fare class next to their name so they obviously had selected those who had paid the least for their seats.
After waiting for 4 hours in one place, desperate for information, and first accepting their offer of flight vouchers and the promise of seats on the next/last flight of the day, we eventually got on our original flight when a connection from Cancun was delayed.
But it was a horrible 4 hours - just sat at the gate waiting for an update, overhearing gate staff talking to each other saying 'I don't know why we are promising these people seats on the next flight as that one is oversold too'.
And that was the final straw for us with them...mind you, the trip before this we had used upgrade vouchers to 1st class (vouchers we got because something was stolen out of my luggage on the trip before that with them)...we were flying NYC to LA and had booked with the upgrade about 10 months in advance and were told at the time that there was absolutely no way we would lose the 1st class seats (the flight price for us was more than economy booked with another airline so the only value for us was using the upgrade)...we had boarded and were in our seats having checked in and got our boarding cards in London about 9 hours before...we had a pre-flight glass of champagne...and were then approached by a very, very evil woman who told that we had to give up our seats and move back to economy (because some very wealthy person had rocked up and wanted to buy two first class seats on the flight so our upgrade was downgraded and they were given our seats). I heard one of the ground staff say to the passenger 'oh, don't worry - it's fine, they'll just get their miles back and they can upgrade another time - they didn't pay for the ticket'. It was absolutely humiliating the way their ground staff treated us - we were told that if we didn't move back to economy they would have Port Authority escort us off the plane and arrest us! Then they didn't even wait until we moved to allow the 2 new passengers on, so they went to our seats and put their bags on our jackets and stuff so we had to squeeze in and get our belongings back. The flight crew even said later they thought it was horrible how we were treated and they were so embarrassed.
...but the planes themselves? They're just dandy.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
