Yeah i realise now! First thing he asked was if we'd been to Vegas before and i stupidly said no!!!!! Would have happily gave him change from 20 but i think in the end he got $2. The cab was disgusting though nearly as bad as the Virgin flight.ACHIEVING THE AIM SINCE.........0 -
SeptemberWell, it was a learning curve and im sure you won't let it happen again! :rotfl:
We got a mad taxi driver the last time, he told us he was a script writer and was writing a movie called Vegas Nights, so he was only driving the taxi as research. He claimed to be mates with Mark Whalberg and said he had agreed to star in it.... :rotfl:Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

MayWe said No Tunnel please last time and the driver made a comment. However he still long hauled us by driving up past the back of the Venetian when we were only going to the IP. I thought he was going to go in the back entrance, but no, he then went onto Flamingo and in the front, a much longer route than he should have taken.
The fare should have been $14-15, but it was nearer $18. Not a huge difference I know, but it was the principal. Hubby was getting irate, but I had made up my mind that he was getting $20 regardless of the fare. He tried to hand me the $2 change, probably looking for a better tip and I just told him to keep it.
Re changing the ebookers rate on the Luxor, I'm afraid you're stuck with it as you booked with a 3rd party. Sorry.0 -

Certainly won't make same mistake again! Apart from timeshare salesman in the hotel lobby my worst experience was the restaurant in the Eiffel Tower, the table was booked for 9 pm we arrived early, by about 10 minutes, and had to wait until 9 45 to get seated, we were given loads of bread as we had to wait nearly 40 minutes for our food. I was recommended this restaurant by a colleague at work who said it was really good. 2 nights later we had food in nine fine irish men for a fraction of the price and it was loads better.ACHIEVING THE AIM SINCE.........0 -
November/DecemberWelcome back ferf. Hope you recouped some of your losses before you came back.0

on the having enough space for everything you buy, we always bring a medium sized case packed inside a large case - so immediately upon arriving we have a large case left to fill. This of course assumes your baggage restrictions will allow it.
Also, we're back...3 nights is so very, very much too short.
Caesars is lovely, but we still prefer Ballys overall.
Virgin flight back was a bit of a nightmare - almost so much that I might *MIGHT* be tempted to consider indirect on another carrier or Virgin via another city. Flight out on Virgin via Chicago was fine but that was on an Airbus. It's the seat configuration via Gatwick that I can't deal with - usually lucky and get pairs at the back so have been somewhat spoiled...not this trip, and ended up paying to upgrade to an exit row (no PE available)...mistake...while the leg room was great for me, the a**e room was not - I have bruises on my (far too ample) hips from being crammed up against the solid armrests..and my husband had a window seat so one of his legs was blocked in by the door...live and learn.
Looking forward to October now when we take the in-laws for their first time.
Also looking forward to reading nvh's trip report, but I think a nap first as didn't get a lot of sleep on the plane.
Welcome back.
It seems that everyone (well most) on here now has suffered the pain in the a**e of the seats on that virgin flight. I wrote to customer services and got a reply which almost accused me of lying and that it cant be right as no else has complained. I then wrote to the CEO and got no reply!!!!!!!!!!
I dont know what to do next year. Firstly the prices are putting me off and then I cant decide wether to go indirect..who has the most comfortable economy seats? or give Virgin some more of my hard earned (grudgingly) and use the LA route, which I have used before and is much better as we all know.0 -
I've given up with Virgin...uncomfortable seats and if you're really unlucky a rampaging stag party f-ing and blinding all over the cabin.
I now get better miles deals and usually a free upgrade to first for the domestic leg with AA instead-and get to stretch my legs and get some fresh air half way-and all for at least £100 cheaper.
AA is more comfortable but no airline has comfortable economy seats-it's all a matter of degree.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Aprili seriously considered buying a Apple laptop at the Fashion Show mall 2 trips ago . i looked into it and you can get a worldwide warranty meaning you could have it fixed at the local Apple store, also it had auto power conversion built in..
welcome back ferf . hope you had a great time apart from the Virgin flight.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
MayGeorge Michael concert was great last night at MGM, just off to Fashion Show Mall before it gets too hot out there
Just booked another weekend here at the Venetian for July, promotion depends on the temperature on the day you are staying. Provisionally booked at $105 per night but they go by the actual weather reading taken on the day, so it may go up a little.
