On 29th May this year I started to look for flights to Las Vegas from my local airport (Humberside). The cheapest flights were just £326 (in September) on KLM (via Amsterdam) - £9 cheaper than flights to New York. By the end of the day the flights had gone up to £370 though!
By 3rd June the cheapest flights were up to £458 - this is still cheaper than BMI from Manchester though.
I think the moral is for people searching for flights next year - bargains may be available if you book far enough ahead.
In my case, I hope to get a free flight by mystery-shopping an airline!0 -
November/DecemberI dont like Virgin and I certainly will not pay more to fly direct with them over a US carrier, I also dontlke flying economy but unfotuantly my last two flights have had to be economy thanks to AA ensuring the brilliant MaxJet went bust. What I have discovered is that for $350 per year you can upgarde free of charge to Economy plus at time of BOOKING with United this also applies to any companion flying with you. Economy Plus is not an enhanced economy class its the same seat the same food etc but you get 5 extra inches of leg room and you are at the font of the cabin so you get off first for me its worth every centIts Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0

A players club card is like a tesco club card you put it in the slots when you play and records what you do or you give it to the pit boss if you are on the tables and he records it. The casino is prepared to pay you for this, I generally stay at MGM resorts and use their card the most, every point you gain on the slots gives you 1c in credit in multiples of $5 you can use this as bonus slot play but you can not get comps with slot play (unless you are a high roller slot player $5 and above) on table play you are rated straight away depending on the property how much you play and how clever you are about playing an amount based on what they expect you tohave lost will be recorded and you wioll get this in credit it can be that you use it against your room rate or for show tickets or even for a meal. I managed to get a 5 night stay and all meals comped and front row tickets for a show once at NYNY I did not bet more than $25 per hand and I actually walked away $1100 UP. Playing for comps is dumb but maximising your comps on you chosen paly is smart. I could go on about this and Vegas all day but I am new and dont want to step out of line. If anyone wants any help on anything Vegas please email me and I will be happy to do what I can. sew109@yahoo.co.uk

Dear Sew109,
Please do go on. I am sure no one will feel you are stepping out of line - why would you say that? This is such a great thread here at MSE. I guess some of the more "experienced" people in this thread will even thank you for helping out sharing tips, since us newbies are always asking the same questionS.
One thing I wanted to remark, since you've made me laugh out loud (lol - learnt that last week), was that we know this is the MSE forum when someone compares LV players' card to a Tesco card!!! :rotfl:0 -
MayWell Guys, wish me luck, flying from Gatwick tomorrow morning.
Can't wait to have a week off and enjoying myself!!!0 -

Indeed. You can never get enough different view points or sources of information. Maybe you should see if Trets could add your website, that you have mentioned a coupe of times and pasted an article from, to the list of sites on the first page FAQ of this thread0 -
MarchPark it yourself.....free......certainly free at the ones I've been to. Could be a long walk back though.
Valet parking......I guess its a tip of maybe $10 or so?
Most will tip $1-$2 for valet parking...some don't tip at all, but a $10 tip would likely make the valet very happy!
As for the question about winning loads I do appreciate the suggestion that perhaps we could find ourselves in the situation and give a first hand account! We arrive on Wednesday (are in the US now though) and hopefully will have to try it out.
I think that casinos are required to withhold the 30% mentioned but some will do the paperwork for you so they can pay you the full amount. They aren't required to do this, but some do...it's a matter of some IRS paperwork that needs to be done.
If it does happen I do hope it's my husband that wins as ultimately he won't be taxed on the winnings where I would have to report them on my US taxes.
I suppose if the amount is enough I won't be bothered, though.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi,
As I'm telling pretty much anyone I meet that I now have only 7 and a bit days before I leave for my 4th visit to Las Vegas, I though I might as well spread the exiting news on the forums too.
This time next week I should be packed, and about to start making my way to the Hilton @ Manchester airport for a night, then Tuesday on the BMI flight direct to a 7 night stay at The Signature.
So excited, this week is going to go so slow, I just know it!
