of course! If you want to talk about the highest recorded ground temperatures Furnace Creek once recorded a temperature of over 200F while the highest recorded "proper" temperature there was 134F

...but it's a dry heat! (or is that just the saying in Phoenix?). I don't think I've ever commented on the summer temps without using a few expletives.

I grew up believing in that expression (as I grew up somewhere extremely hot and humid in the summer) - I completely envied those dry heat people.

Then we went to Vegas in June and frankly, hot is hot. And dry hot with wind is like standing in front of a million hair dryers all day. While it IS a dry heat, when it's that hot, it really doesn't matter. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Could anyone comment on what Delta are like flying to Vegas from Manchester? I've read some iffy reviews on them.

I have experienced both extremes and if I had to choose it would be the dry heat every time.

Last time I was in Vegas in may it was 110 (in the shade of course) and that was B..... hot

We used Delta last Sept for our Vegas trip with a change in Atlanta, great airline can't fault them. Nice pack on the seat for the night flight Atlanta - Manchester with toothpaste, eye shade, headphones etc. Not bad on legroom too, we're both over 6' and managed to get some sleep.
The change in Atlanta was fairly pain free too, I'd use them again if the price was right.
  • HELP MEEEEEEEEE.

I've got 19 Apr till up to and including the 5th of May off work. I AM GOING TO LAS VEGAS with a friend woohoo But.... Ive spent ages looking at price comparison sites and reading threads and I got such a bad headache. I definately want to be on the strip and Im looking at expedia I dont want to spent more than £700 really per person for 2 weeks flight and accomodation. Is expedia the best place to look? Shall I just book the cheapest strip hotel because I doubt I be spending much time in it anyway, can u go in all the other hotels for free?

IS there anything else I can go to save money? My dad says just book the cheapest flight and pay for the hotel when I get there ???? That sounds risky to me.
