MayI understand that most have a car when they are in LV. We are only there for four days but I would still like to see a bit of the desert and surrounding area. I could do a coach trip perhaps but its only £30 for a day for a car so will probably have a go!
Any suggestions for a trip out ending in a mall I would imagine, coz if I want to see 'a load of rocks' it will cost me! Dont want to drive for hours just a quick dart out into the wilderness.

After all the trawling for flights and individual hotel deals I decided to book through Opodo! 4 people, direct flights from Manchester staying at Planet Hollywood - total cost £3012 (£753pp)
Hotel offer includes - 2 for 1 Admission to Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara
- 2 complimentary admissions to Asia Nightlife
- $25 Spice Market Buffet credit
- 10% off lunch at Planet Dailies
- $10 in free slot play, with $20 coin in
- $2 off Absolut Martinis in the Heart Bar
Not sure if this what you regular money savers would pick, but this is my first time to America, never mind Vegas!
Now all I gotta do is see what show & trips I wanna do!
   Great news your going to have a blast .
i would say you have got a pretty good deal there. BMI and Planet Hollywood would be what i would pick if i was going tomorrow. pays to check out the cost via a agent if the flight prices are high i guess.
a few weird types don't like Las Vegas ( well i suppose not everyone can like it  ) but from my experience most people who have visited , come away having had a great stay they enjoyed :T . Planet Hollywood has totally turned around what used to be the Aladdin. the only thing they have kept within the Casino is the name "Spice Market Buffet" . they weren't going to throw that out , not with it's reputation. other than that it was hard to see anything of the old incarnation within the casino . The Miracle Mile shopping Mall however still carries all the decor etc of Desert Passage , i didn't see a "thunderstorm" while there ..(wonder if they still do them) but it was very busy ..not the "desserted" passage anymore i guess
do make sure you sign up for the Planet Hollywood players club , not only do get a $20 matched play bonus , but you will also then have no trouble booking a special players club offer there , should you go back.
PM or post me a countdown clock ..... see post # 4and ask us all about anything else .

the drive out to fashion outlets center mall in Primm is very easy and goes through a fair bit of dessert ect. there are a few turnings off the main highway where you could get yourself lost for a few hours if you wanted, takes about 30-40 mins from the strip. this is right on the Nevada/ California border .also why not try somewhere like Boulder city , or Lake Mead . or one of the Canyons . i know wydw has done some hikes in a few .Can anyone tell me which card it is thats the best to use whilst over there - ie to pay for the hotel in $$'s on a UK credit card? Ive gone back over old posts, but cant seem to find it - think I recall it being something to do with the Post Office?
1) you can apply for it completely online ( which you must do for the quidco money) 2) mine arrived ready to use in under a week. 3) they gave me a decent spending limit (£5000) , which might prove invaluable in a emergency. 4) okay customer service , Irish call center ( better than India :rolleyes2 :cheesy: ) that generally does not keep you waiting . 5) that £20 free Quidco cash   would make it a good one to get , even without the No Fees overseas . and yes you get the best exchange rate possible when using it.
contrast that with my experience of my Nationwide Credit card.
1) applied via post , it was returned once because they had lost something so i had sign it again. took 2 months from start to finish to get it. 2) when it did arrive i was made to wait an hour (i kid you not) on hold just to activate it. 3) they gave me piddly £1000 credit limit .4) customer services are hit and miss sometimes straight through , other times a long wait on hold.
i only really use it for the car hire now days .
team the Post office card with Nationwide current account card (for your no fee cash withdrawals) and your set.
hello
can anyone tell me if NY NY have fridges in there rooms, there is no mention of them on there website in any of the rooms.
we are in a skyline room and wondered where abouts in the hotel these rooms are located and also is it worth trying the $20 trick here for an upgrade.
thanks
they also don,t have Tea or Coffee making within the room, but there are lots of vending machinces in the room corridors . all rooms are split into different towers which have own seperate enrtances and elevators spread out over the casino ( there never was a world trade center tower in case your wondering) , i think that each tower has a mixture of all rooms on offer, but i would not swear to it. each tower is a different colour also
so some have dark glass while others have pink or clear glass. we stayed in a Park Avenue deluxe room ( i cannot remember name of the tower ) and it was very comfy .$20 trick is always worth ago IMO .p.s don't give the rollercoaster any thought, it was right outside our room and did not disturb us once.
the spring deals are rolling in now     :T :T

If you want to see rocks, the closest is Red rock canyon http://www.americansouthwest.net/nevada/red_rock_canyon/nca.html about half hour drive away, but doesnt end in a Mall sorry:rotfl:0 -
Trets is there a way of getting the countdown clock to post auotmatically each time without copying and pasting?0 -
Aprilyou cannot use it as your signature( the text that can be at the bottom of all your posts) , and don't think there is way to put in each post without copying and pasting each time .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0

Are you getting excited now its not long away. but I hope it warms up a bit its quite cold at the moment.
We are booking the Luxor today.
GETTING EXCITED!?
I have been feeling mega excited since we booked it, lol!
I have received my tourist guide to las vegas (I think I ordered it from here, http://www.visitlasvegas.com/vegas/footer/contact.jsp?page=free-brochure) it took only 7 days to arrive and is quite informative although it is from 2007! It does help put the size of Vegas into perspective, it looks HUGE and utterly awesome
I recieved my Post office credit card today so will be booking my Papillion helicopter tour of the grand canyon. I have searched prices and these are coming out best price at the moment, also my brochure has discount code for an extra 15% off (I will check it works and post back if it does).
Oh yes and it will be CLINK CLINK FIZZ.....on the plane :T :T :T
Do you have any definate plans?pinkpinkfizz

Thanks for that link! We're taking my in laws sometime this fall for their first trip so will order one for them in a few months to go along with the Brit's Guide to Las Vegas we plan to buy them once the new edition goes on sale next month.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
