Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

looks a good deal to me.

would prefer the helicopter tour though myself.

anyone know if you get charged when booking this or whether its only charged on the day of the tour?
Don't really want to fork out this far in advance and possibly have to mess about with cancellation etc if dates weren't suitable.

Pretty sure you have to pay up front, but their T&C say that most packages can be cancelled up to 24 hours before without penalty...haven't read far enough to see if it says which ones aren't refundable.

I finally booked our flights for next week...can't wait. Got a good price of £350 pp flying with US Airways via Philly with good connections.

Can someone please help me with packing? Its 4 years now since we travelled to the US and I have some questions about luggage.

What is the situation now on electrical goods. Do chargers, batteries and electrical goods go in suitcase or hand luggage and are their any restrictions on what you can put in hand luggage?

I also have a gas cylinder hotbrush, MP3 player and Nintendo DS which I would like to use on the flight (not the hotbrush obviously, where do these go.

Oh and my husband wants to know where we should put the kitchen sink....he thinks he's funny!!

    Can anyone help?

there's been a lot of negative comments regarding the state of the virgin plane and that its old and out-dated but thats nothing compared to the US Airways plane i took when i flew to philly from gatwick last december was so old it should have been in a museum. We were flying business class and it was awful, ive been in more comfortable, newer economy seats on other airlines.

As for equipment, mp3/ipods are fine to use as is the DS. I take my PSP on every flight i go on (travel a lot to africa with work) and its a lifesaver. Once the seatbelt signs go off afer take off you generally can use ipods/games consoles as long as they're not using the wireless capabilities. i always have cables for ipod and psp in hand luggage, never had a problem not taking them on as hand luggage.

i flew US Airways to Philly from Manchester and then onto Boston. i agree they weren't the best but I'd take the 2 window seats ( on their own) we had on that over Virgins 747 any day . i cannot remember the class of plane so we maybe talking about completely different aircraft.

I think another thing that really gets under my skin is that you know Virgin could do better. where they have direct competition for your cash , they can provided a very good trans Atlantic flight . the flight from HRW to LAX was excellent in all departments. but while they can still fill that 747 most days and charge a obscene amount for the seats in summer / bank holidays and weekends , why spend a few million quid on a new plane ??.

Apart from the safety video the only thing that played properly on my in seat screen was a message from Beardy Branson himself.
from what you are telling us in feedback , it appears we are getting things about right , so sit back make yourself comfortable and enjoy the flight

well guys , sitting back and getting comfortable is something you cannot do in economy on that plane and the feedback they are getting for the Las Vegas flight from this thread is pretty much 100% negative.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Brilliant reading that trets77, still struggle with the large group bookings though. to think 4 years ago, me and three mates had a week in vegas at the Luxor, incl direct flights from manchester - for less than £500 notes each!

    Hi all,

Me and the better half are off to Vegas early next year. We've decided to do tandem skydiving and I wanted to canvass any opinion there might be on who to go with as there are a few options thrown up by google.

Anyone got any past experience of any provider?

My favourite so far is looking like

i booked tickets to see cher via ticketmaster didnt have any problems the venue was sold out so it would be advisable to order before you leave the uk

Saw Cher Sunday night, half the time you are watching the giant screens showing her old music/movie clips as she goes off stage after each song for a costume change...was still good though.

I booked through ticketmaster a while ago and just picked the ticket up at box office.

I saw on the local news another construction worker was killed Saturday on City Centre site...thats 6 so far apparently...

Just booked Le Reve for our trip in a couple of weeks - Ticketmaster has a special for the $137.50 price seats for $86.50 or so...after all the fees it ended up working out to $100/ticket but still a decent deal I think.

We didn't go through the travelzoo deal as we are already Red Card members so not sure if we would get the $25 free play...I've seen some that are for new sign-ups only.

Looking forward to it - we debated a lot booking a show when we're only there for 3 nights...but in the end decided to go for it but booked the late show at 9:30 instead of the 7:00.
