Oh, no, there goes my Jan. flight from Stansted to Vegas. AA announce that the route to JFK is being axed.

Such a shame - we had high hopes that that route would lead to others from Stansted...hope that they sort something out that works reasonably well for you.

re the Wynn buffet promo for new members it's been posted at Open Vegas that it's now changed to 150 points for 2 buffets and there's no longer a 1-buffet level. Also they have a new promo for new sign-ups where you get a chance to win prizes (starting at $10 freeplay).

Historically the promo has been all over the place but it's been the same (25 for 1, 50 for 2 buffets) for several months. Will be interesting to see if it goes back to that or if those days are over.

Well, AA had accomplished what they set out to do, bankrupt any other airline that attempted to offer an alternative, and done just that, they bu**er off. Disgrace
I saw that and it seems that AA are axing quite a few flights and making severe cutbacks in the face of rising fuel prices. dont know what that means for the rest of the industry if AA are having to do that

I read on the pilots forum that T Cook Airlines are going to reduce their fleet soon, I have a bad feeling about all this.

I agree with you (and photome) on this.

For the OP, to get an idea of the scale of construction (and it's just an idea, you can't really understand until you see it!) check here

a construction photo with a bit of MC on the left.

    And an aerial view -

MC's hotel is the sort of upside down Y.

I would also probably avoid it during the construction personally...some reviews have said that the construction noise starts quite early and goes quite late, etc.

But if you're prepared for the construction then it may be OK - I think a lot of people go not knowing and are then surprised and disappointed.

Thanks for all your feedback, i did see it on booking but reviews at Tripadvisor seem to think it was ok. Bit as fagin says, "Im reviewing the situation" :) .

If and when i cancel, i suppose i email them with bags of notice and i get the deposit back automatically?

    Regards

    Hi again everyone

I've had a look at flights and the best I can find right now is £421 with NWA (we flew with them last time and were perfectly fine), I just wanted to know if this was a reasonable price to pay as before I had only booked through expedia or lastminute.com so don't have an idea of flight costs.

We have also looked at the possibility of flying to LA, spending 2 nights there and then making a road trip to Vegas for a week. Would be interested to hear from anyone who has done this before? All in all the flights work out £20 more expensive but I like the idea of a road trip!

    Cheers

    Hi all,

Can any one recommend a good street/road map for use in the strip area?

Also does any one know of any good web sites that i could practice slots on prior to going to vegas. When i went last time i played one called ( i think) Disco Steve, I won all the light and alarms went off and i didn't have a clue. Would like more of a heads up this time. And no it was not a big win, $200 i think :)

    Cheers

Try BLUE SQUARE CASINO as the slot games are exactly like the Vegas ones. They are mostly old games though, but you do get the bonus rounds.

My strategy for playing slots is to play maximum lines and usually minimum bet per line so on Goldfish for example I would play 30c a spin. I only play for fun and not for profit and can play for hours doing that.

https://www.skybetvegas.com is also good for slots - some of which you can actually find in the casinos in Vegas (Texas Tea, Enchanted Unicorn and Cleopatra) - you can just put in a fake email address for the free play option. Blue Square which Luci mentioned also has Cleopatra II and my husband has been playing (for free) online loads but he's never had any luck on the real thing in Vegas. Another one you can find in Vegas is the Elvis Multi-Strike machine which they have at Blue Square.

We always play all lines like Luci, but normally about $1/spin.
