MayWait, wait, wait!!
I have a US passport but we have previously been told that my husband cannot come through with me on his UK passport...is this in Vegas that they let you do this and do you ever have any difficulty (I know we've been told no at ORD and ERW - not sure if we've ever tried or asked at LAS out of fear of the same thing happening).
Ferf, we ALWAYS use the U.S. line, Vegas about 30 times, Chicago 10, Philly 10. SFO 5, Orlando, Miami, Dallas. We only once had to do the walk of shame when a superviser in Vegas told us that my wife couldn't come through with me, but that was a long time ago.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

MayI'm actually flying with Bmi (sorry, forgot to mention)
Didn't realise you had to recollect your bags - never had to before when connecting to other flights..!!
Hopefully this will be more reassuring than not seeing them for 14 or so hours of travel!
Whats the chicago customs like? The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Wow...that's so great to hear! After being told it wasn't an option when I asked (repeatedly) we never actually tried it out of fear of him ending up at the back of the queue from not only our plane but others that may have arrived in the interim...may just have to give it a shot! Thanks very much.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Did everyone read this today about the upcoming requirement to register your trip to the US at least 72 hours before? Expected start in January.

At least it sounds like once you've registered you're good for 2 years.
I bet that travel agents and other sneaky people will offer the service for a feee as many do for the Australian ETA (which most airlines will do free).illegitimi non carborundum0 -
MarchSounds like pretty much a duplicate of the API information that you now need to enter on Virgins website.......cant these people get their act together and decide what info they want, and collect it once?
Agreed but I think that Virgin currently doesn't have to send the info to the US until shortly before the flight and the onus is on them to ensure the info is collected either online or at check-in? so hopefully once the new system is in place we'll only have to enter the info on the site the US government requires...that's the way it is with Australia - the airline can see if you have an Electronic Travel Authority when you check in for the flight so they know you're OK to fly.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

MarchHas anyone visited the Chicken Ranch???
No, but they do tours...I really wanted to go on one (Pebbles may remember our friend Norm talking about the tours over breakfast one day)...it sounded fascinating. Like many things to do in Vegas it got put on the 'to do one day' list.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
