Heading off 2 vegas next week on virgin - seen all the chat about their Vegas planes not being up 2 much. Any advice on which seat 2 pick on the seatplan to give a better chance of having the in flight entertainment work or is it just a lottery!?0

Well if it helps the twin seats at the back were working almost three weeks ago, seats 61 a & C, but i'd be suprised if they're still available.
Stew.
PS I know, no trip report yet, still getting over the jet lag, will post some bits and pieces by the weekend, I promise.0 -

I think it's a bit of a gamble on the seat-back system - at least I haven't read anything that indicates that particular seats are more prone to issues...but have a look at
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Virgin_Atlantic_Airways/Virgin_Atlantic_Airways_Boeing_747-400_2.php
for some guidance...agree with the others that the pairs at the back will be long gone by now, but at least you can try to select the best of what's left. Chances are you've been assigned seats already but you can normally change them online (or by telephone, but I prefer online as I can flip back and forth between seatguru and the flight seating plan availability.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MayHi all,
Me and the better half are off to Vegas early next year. We've decided to do tandem skydiving and I wanted to canvass any opinion there might be on who to go with as there are a few options thrown up by google.
Anyone got any past experience of any provider?
My favourite so far is looking like

Sorry I can't help with recommendations, but the first thing you should do is check that you would be covered for it on your travel insurance. Most policies don't cover hazardous activities.
My annual Nationwide policy used to cover most hazardous activities as long as they were a one-off experience and not the main reason for the trip. Now however they specifically list the ones that they cover.0 -

the Flight we took from Heathrow to La with Virgin was excellent , like a different airline compared to LV to Gatwick..Has anyone visited the Chicken Ranch???
I only know what i have read in the Unofficial guide to Las Vegas which makes a interesting read on the whole subject as regards to LV .Heading off 2 vegas next week on virgin - seen all the chat about their Vegas planes not being up 2 much. you could also try to a secure a bulkhead seat put your gonna have to get to twlight check in when it opens the day before your flight. you could pay for a exit row seat , but they sell fast as well. other than that i would choose something on a aisle , so you are not blocked in by a starnger who you have to ask to move if you need to get out , and trust me you will want to get out of your seat .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

Going to stick up for Virgin here we flew out about 7-8 days ago and it was fine, flew BA LHR to LAX and whilst the service was better Virgins seats were far nicer which for me is far far more important.
only complaint of the flight which wasnt virgins fault is we had to wait an hour to take off after we had boarded, however by the time we landed we were only 20 mins late, had to wait about 45 mins to clear customs, however this was much more friendly and less zoo like than LAX was by a mile (where we waited about an hour last time)
These last couple of nights have been in the mgm and its much quieter(by vegas standards and the weekend just gone they are offering free passes to coyote and studio 54)
Been to the following shows which were all very very good
Spamalot really recommend this we got offered VIP tickets from the Wynn box office for the normal category 1 price, so got to sit in row E, which was really good as this was the show we really wanted to see
KA, top show the stage is amazing got tickets from tix4tonight for about 40% off category 2
Mystere, 40% of cat 3 tickets which meant this was very cheap, again brilliant show
Folie Bergere, this is on 2 for 1 either at tix4tonite or the box office (if you sign up to tropicanas players card), much better than we expected and was worth seeing0 -

Wonder if you will still be saying the same about Virgin after your return flight, my outbound flight wasnt so bad but the return was HELL, but if I do it again I now know the best seats are in the toilet...thanks trets:rotfl:0 -
