Marchalso buying your own insurance from somewhere like Insurance4Carhire won't work because they ( like Virgin holidays) have this nasty little clause buried in the small print
Dollar only recognizes its own insurance on Dollar Car Rental. Although you car hire agreement includes $1 million Third Party Liability coverage, it is vital you have adequate cover to protect yourself against severe financial risk in the event of total loss of the vehicle, damage or accidents, especially as some US drivers carry little or no insurance.
in short , we force you to buy our own overpriced insurance
I don't understand that...Dollar doesn't ask for you to provide details of your insurance coverage at the time of rental (I know as I do not take any of the insurance coverage/waivers when I rent with them as I have coverage on my credit card)...if you opt not to take their additional coverage you don't have to show them that you have coverage elsewhere...and if you do have coverage elsewhere and you get into a situation where you need to use it, I don't think it's down to Dollar to say that they won't accept it - if another insurer agrees to pay out a claim to Dollar I don't think that they can decline...I don't work in the insurance industry, but I can't see how Dollar could come after the renter for not taking their own insurance when the renter has insurance coverage elsewhere.
I agree that it sounds like a better deal to go direct with dollar.co.uk or another rental company rather than taking the car as part of a package, but I don't get the bit where MyTravel claims that you can't get insurance elsewhere...that just doesn't ring true to me.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchFor the show im going to go to one of the half price outlets early morning
wdyw pointed out that you don't have to get up too early...we've always gone at 10:30 for 11:00 opening, but at least tix4tonight's website says that they post shows at 9:30 for a 10:00 opening now - that's definately changed.
print the VIP line pass out to save time in the queue as well.

we found the booth next to the Peppermill did not have the queues of the others , plus you can then nip into the Peppermill for a great Breakfast ( and use their carpark) .

That's exactly what we do! Though we go for breakfast first and (of course) use their car park.We have seen some massive queues by the time they open though...normally at 10:30 it's not too bad - we're normally in the first few in the VIP queue but the regular queue has been 20 deep or so and more than double that by the time they open.

MayThere were huge queues at Tix4Tonight at the Hawaiian Marketplace, yet there was no queue at all at Tickets2Nite just a wee bit further south on the strip. Also the latter had tickets for Carrot Top while the former were sold out.0

At which end of the strip is the Pepermill? Would be ideal as mentioned to grab breakfast before haggling with the ticket office!0

MayAt which end of the strip is the Pepermill? Would be ideal as mentioned to grab breakfast before haggling with the ticket office! The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
