I haven't used them myself (or heard of them, but I never book hotels through 3rd parties)...have you checked the rate booking direct with the hotel? It's still quite early for September deals to be out.
Their cancellation policies look pretty dreadful though...but if it seems a good deal to you and you are happy with it and would prefer to get something booked, then go for it...I wouldn't personally but some might.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

July.
** Edit - I wouldn't book through Expedia or any other 3rd party site. If you see a good deal later you're stuck with what you have booked. If you book direct with the hotel, they will only take the first night's deposit and you can cancel up to 72 hours before arrival and get your deposit back if you find a better deal.
Hi Luci and all,
Just to give my own experience RE booking via Expedia.
I have recently booked our vegas hotel through them for our trip in June and whilst they do take payment in full up front you CAN CANCEL up to 7 days in advance subject to a £15 (I think it is) penalty.
They recently had a 30% off sale for Vegas hotel rooms, so they were giving the best price for The Orleans that I have found so far and I have been monitoring any deals since Dec 07 (their price came out at an average £29 per night).
I figure that securing the best price now with a possible £15 penalty if I choose to cancel at a later stage is worth the saving that they provide.
So, SOMETIMES it may make sense to book via Expedia. I had nearly ruled out checking third party prices but am happy that I did. If The Orleans release an exception deal closer to my trip I will simply cancel expedia with the £15 penalty and take advatage of the better deal - if not, then I can't lose really.
Furthermore - some hotels (like Orleans for example) offer a price match, so if Expedia beat the hotels own rate then if you call them they will match it - worth bearing in mind.

I think they are part of http://www.cityandshow.com
same ATOL number
I have used these before with no problem, and they are taking a £99 deposit for rooms booked through them at the moment, balance payable 10 weeks before
also if you use Quidco you can get 2% back

seeing as i will never fly with virgin to Las Vegas again , i would be prepared to look at flights into LAX ( where Virgin have good planes, and there are plenty of other carriers ) , and staying in LA for a night before driving on to Las Vegas ( plenty of LA resisdents do it every week ) . but thats just me.illegitimi non carborundum0

Just had a look at some of the deals posted above and the ones on Fatwallet. It struck me that many of the deals are not available on some of the dates at one hotel, but are at another on the same date.
What would be useful is a "Cheap FLights Finder" comparison tool, but for Vegas hotels, enabling filtering by hotels, and showing the best rates available on each date for the required hotels. Like the flight finder, it would spider the various deals automatically.
Anyone else think this would be useful? WHat else would be needed?illegitimi non carborundum0 -

isn't that what Las Vegas Promotions sister site " Vegas hotel hunt " does  ??
http://www.vegashotelhunt.com/
i put this site in the guide when the creator:T posted on this board to let us know about it . i don't think it was long after this new thread went live , but it was not in there from the start
you can also find the above link on the top of the Vegas promotions site http://www.vegas-promotions.com/. :A
it is still worth while checking out the likes of Fatwallet ect regular as the good offers tend to get pulled quicker.
don't forget the Fatwallet vegas deals page 1 has a rundown of current offers for each hotelBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
