Hi wdyw,
Nice one about finalising your trip. Did you get a good deal on The Signature?
I am umming and ahhing between Wynn, The Signature and The Palazzo for the last five nights of our trip - I definately do not want to switch hotels during these last five nights,so I have to make a decision and stick to it I suppose. We stayed at Wynn in 2005 and I fell in love with the tranquility of the place, but both Signature & Pallazo keep calling me!!!
Anyone have an opinion?
Palazzo is a better location, Signature is a bit too far south to be "perfect".
Signature is quieter and a free gym (once you pay their $15 a day charge), both have free internet access, we decided to stick with the place we know id great rather than "chance" the Palazzo (Before Signature, Venetian used to be our favourite hotel). Palallo worked out more expensive by aobut $100 over the week, but the telling point was the gym facilites
Yes Trets, back again with MyTravel, though we have had to pay more than in previous years, £310 for the flight.0 -

September is generally a popular month , but t the good offers are probably not about yet. . if your just checking with the MGM grand site , your probably not seeing the best prices .
i would book a a "saver" until then, ie a hotel you would accept ( but not necessarily your 1st choice) at price that is doable. at least you then fall back if your chosen dates turn out to be very popular .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

Going to Las Vegas for the 1st time in june and cant decide wether to take dollars or travelers chqs.
Prev always took uk £'s when going on hols to other european destinations and changed locally, but been advised this aint easy in Las Vegas.
Read about applying for cc's on this sight but decided against it.
Now call me thick, I know you can buy travellers chqs comm free, but do you have to pay a charge when using them, and on your ret to the uk if you have any left?
Also, what amount of money would you say is the minimum you should take for 2 adults?.
I know this can depend on what you intend to do when you get there, but dont want to end up either not taking enough,or taking too much and losing out if you have to pay comm to exchange back to £'s.
Thanks in advance.0 -

MayHERE is a link to Fat Wallet with all the latest offers on Page 1. I suggest you have a hunt through that to see what kind of offers were available for last September. Our MGM deal appear in January and we booked it immediately for April. It disappeared and the offers that followed it weren't nearly as good.
Re travellers cheques, how much will depend on how long you are going for. I would say at least $1500-2000 for a week. Get US$ cheques and you can use them like cash over there, no commission or anything. If the bill comes to $50 you can sign a $100 cheque and get $50 change in cash.
We usually take about $2000 in TC's. If we need more we use our Nationwide FlexAccount card in the ATM at Casino Royale as it only charges a fee of $1 per transaction. We also use our N/W credit card to pay buy stuff and to pay our hotels bills.
** Edit - I wouldn't book through Expedia or any other 3rd party site. If you see a good deal later you're stuck with what you have booked. If you book direct with the hotel, they will only take the first night's deposit and you can cancel up to 72 hours before arrival and get your deposit back if you find a better deal.
I had the Bellagio booked then found the MGM offer and cancelled the Bellagio.0 -

Personally I think you'd be mad to take travellers cheques when there's cards such as the Abbey Zero CC. I'd change around £500 and leave the rest of my holiday spending cash in my high interest savings account, apply for the Abbey Zero card and use it as a debit card abroad. Back home pay off the CC balance in full with the money stashed in your savings and put the Abbey card away for the next overseas trip.0
