Your ham dish sounds delicious, CoG, and has given me an idea for a starter for the Old Wives’ supper next week - thank you6

Usual carer housekeeping duties!
Did a bit of a report.
Mum had some highs including her longest walk yet; she's getting the hang of Linford the rollator; some lows including making a valiant attempt to ring the bank but getting confused and frustrated with all the options instructions to use the app/ press1 for x / state a key word / you're in a queue and your custom is important to us etc. I reassured her that we all get confused and frustrated by company call centres. Plumber came promptly but sadly when she was resting, making a lot of noise with tools and running up and down stairs. Then the microwave packed up major panic and we almost fell out while I tried to be patient: no, it was nothing the plumber did, it's the microwave. Yes, the TV is working but the microwave isn't.
Hope I can manage a swim tomorrow after I've bought a microwave!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Morning all xx
I was so tired that I went to bed at 8.30pm. And slept til 4.30am. Then dozed for a couple of hours.
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast, completed Wordle, got one line on Connections, and supped a brew.
It's chilly and raining...so back to pop socks and shoes on for work. I cannot tell a lie - tis preferable to twot, but I'm still hankering after 'just right'.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I trudge off to TT. Going to drop off H's birthday card on my way home.
Have a good day.
Love to all

CoG what about lemon posset? (sp?). there’s a BBC Good Food recipe which has almond shortbread shards too, to serve it with. Failing that i have a lovely recipe for baked peaches with amaretti biscuit topping. Peaches must be ripe… it’s quite easy.
DW should have run last night,
Work today. I’m going to be grumbling at the Stay and Play group because someone from that group (and, once again, I have my suspicions) took it upon herself (they’re all women) to empty a box in the storage cupboard and use it for the stickle bricks. The box contained tea lights and tea light holders which are used to the pop up…they were stuffed into other items instead. It’s going to be a very firm, stern grumble…it’s the least profitable (ie it costs us) group we run and it causes the most mess and me the most work. But to empty a box that’s clearly in use is taking the wee wee and i’m not having it.
Ill be taking the tablecloths, which have been washed, back so i’ll count that as flingage.
Hope you all have good days.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Go Valli! Finally managed to get a two part birthday present and card together, wrapped and parceled up for a friend in Glasgow only to discover that the post office is shut yet again. Took the dog to the next nearest one which was a bit of a schlep but worth it because it's now gone at last and she had a good long walk. The cordless thingy people rang me and we've found a fault on it, so they're going to come and collect it, repair it and deliver it back. Very impressed with that service. While I was on the phone with them the computer chappie transferred all my files from my old Windows XP computer to this new-to-me laptop, but hasn't got an adapter so that I can use it with my massive screen so that'll involve yet another visit. I can't get Microsoft to accept my payment for a licence so I can't work on my spreadsheets on the new to me laptop which is really frustrating. And while those two things were happening we had a delivery. The rest of the day has been relatively eventless. Why does everything always happen at once? Not much on the actual Flying as in cleaning front but I did manage to do about five hours at my desk, which means some muddles are starting to be unmuddled. I genuinely hadn't realised how much chaos I had built up.Supper prepped while I still had some energy. I find that makes the evenings run much more smoothly.Better is good enough.5

Hi all
Just checking in, long day at the paid stuff. Blood tests done. DH made a lovely roast dinner but I ended up cleaning up and it seemed to take ages. I have put a load of washing on.
Where's Pigpen, it's strange around here without her. Hope she's okay.
Oh and CofG I would love to be invited to yours for a meal, it sounds heavenly!
Going to get ready for bed and get an early night I think.

Hello.
Back to work today but I managed to do shredding, sort out a couple of drawers and put all rubbish and recycling out as well as dailies and dog walk.
Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Quite a bit of flying.
- vacuumed all rooms
- watered container plants and did some dead-heading
- Mum's first telephoned grocery service arrived; very friendly driver knocked loudly and waited for long enough so she could get to the front door then brought items into the kitchen, guided by Mum, pointing out the frozen goods which were separate. It all looks good, glad to see loose potatoes and not lots of plastic. Mum put everything away. Driver said expect I'll see you again soon as I do this area every Wednesday.
- took recycling out
- new veg rack arrived; it's been the bane of my existence looking at Mum's old arrangement in the utility room (veg in a box in a washing up bowl on the floor handy to trip over, then a 2-tier rack one for recyclables and one for miscellaneous items ranging from slug pellets to clothes pegs!!). Now she has a 3 tier rack sitting on a chest of drawers at an easy height; one for veg, one for recyclables and fewer miscellaneous stuff. The floor is clear and safe!
- various other support/caring jobs so Mum rang the plumber re his invoice (which wanted bank transfer which she currently can't do) - she wrote a cheque, addressed it and it is ready to post. Finally got through to bank showing patience while on hold. Physio/stroke therapist came. We had a walk. Messaged gardener with instructions for tomorrow.
- wrote a bit more of a report.
- Did various bits of tidying, wrote Mum's diary that I share with DB, crossed items off lists.
- I took time out at the beach, a bit windy and waves big but I paddled.

Morning all xx
It's my Friyayyyyyy. Soooo glad that I booked tomorrow off. I'm running on fumes.
I managed to stay awake for GBSB last night...although I did miss a bit if the transformation round. 😴 Ooops.
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast, completed Wordle and Connections, and supped my brew.
All before getting up time....🤔
Hope you all have a good day.
👋 to the lurkers.
Love to all
